Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

It seems that when we attack our defenders forget how to defend and make nervous mistakes.  I think being in all or nothing situation is making us concede more, so at the start of next season I'm expecting more clean sheets and more 1-0 and 2-0 wins.  However, if we can find a good balance between the 2 play styles, we very will be seeing 4-1s all over the place, which would be great :).

Really :censored: Arshavin scored 4, I think he's overrated and now everyone will think he's something better than he really is.  He's decent, but made the most of our errors.

Could be good news, if true. But I can't see Tevez, who is moaning about being left on the bench at Utd, signing for us knowing that if the formation doesn't change...he'll be sitting on the bench for Liverpool too.

Our current set up means that any striker signing for us knows that it's Torres who is going to be our first choice striker and they're going to be filer material, when he's not on the pitch.

...and welcome back!  :D

I said before the game that masher v's Arshavin would be teh key battle and in that respect we lost badly.

The guy scores one goal - ok, he's tricky. But to let him score 4 ffs? Terrible that he was able to get between the midfield and defense then through the defense so easily. Honest, Rafa and Sammy need to see HOW he made those gaps. He got behind Masher 4 times then straight through the defense?

If the lad doesnt wear his undies on the outside, then he should.

I'm really proud of the lads again. We've once more showed what Liverpool FC is all about. If we don't win the league, then at least I'll know that we've given it our all. Walk on.

I think we can all categorically say Arshavin is a top quality player now.

I'll admit his finishing is class and he's got nerves of steel, but those goals were gifted to him. The goals were products of players in red shirts

The money we splashed on Keane should have been spent on him.

And Im not saying that with hindsight; a few of us said it.

Dissapointed with the result but we always knew that this one game was the most likely one in our run-in where we could drop points. I'm just thankful that we didn't drop all 3.

In reality what has changed? We always needed the Mancs to lose one and draw one in order to catch up. All that's required NOW, is for them to lose 2 instead of one. Looking at their fixtures, this is still a possibility. They have

At home:
Portsmouth
Spurs
Citeh
Arsenal

Away:
Borough
Wigan
Hull

So, not quite plain sailing..... Citeh and Arsenal remain our biggest hopes and Boro have always been their bogey team AND are fighting for survival. Hull is not yet safe..... Theres still hope.

The heartbeat for the challenge may be weak but we've not quite flat-lined.

Regrets and "what-ifs" aside, this has been one hell of a season for us.

So c'mon lads, finish strong and be damned with what everyone else does.

Well I've no doubt that Man Utd will be thinking this a great chance to put it to bed. Beat Pompey (which I think they will) and they'll think they're almost there. The truth is they almost will be, and only a catestrophic fall in a hole will deny them. It's been that exciting thoguh that I just can't see it ending with a final pull clear, it just doesn't ring true. Whichever way it goes, I think it'll be very tight and down to the last couple of matches at least.
