half time: although we've had loads of posession we aren't using it very well. passes in the final third haven't been good but it hasn't helped that we aren't attacking in numbers.

when kuyt drops off to link play the whole momentum slows to let him get back. i think there are 2 ways we can get into this game.

1) utilise the wingers more. gonzalez could do a lot of damage with his pace.

2) put on a strike partner (crouch) for kuyt to play with. that way there will always be someone on the last defender's shoulder and getting into the box.

the problem is who to take off. no one's having a particularly bad game so who to sacrifice? i'm glad that's rafa's decision to make :;):

hate to say it but it looks like Kuyt is suffering from burnout - putting 150% into each of his early season performances seems to be having an effect on him now. He's not linking up with the midfield well enough like we're used to him doing and likewise he's not playing as an out an out 'fox in the box' type striker to get on the end of those crosses.

painfully pedestrian

One time, I saw a man looking at me, yes, with his eyes. And then, he, he picked up a tube. And he looked, in the tube, and he made the moon big, inside the tube. The moon big inside a tube! Waahaha... Aaah. Telescope.

Have been thinking that. He runs all over the place without actually doing anything.

tbh im not bothered at all. Let em.

If Arsenal do win, it creates an even greater gulf between the two qualification berths down to 5th...and the matter isnt about which one of them Liverpool fill, as much as ensuring they are in one of them come May.

Add the likes of Bolton into the mix and the liklihood lessens to the chances of grabbing one. Yeah 3rd would be great and all that...but lets make sure we DO keep our end of the bargain, just in case. That will be easier to achieve when there are two sides competing for as many spots.

the game's opening up more which should mean we'll get more chances. riise just misses with a long-range effort

pennant won a corner there, but as the commentator said, he only took so long to put the cross in because he had to wait for people to get into the box. When you play pennant, crouch or fowler have to play as well to make use of his crosses into the box. that, or kuyt has to be told to stay in the box - otherwise its just a waste as he either crosses to noone or he waits for ages for someone to get in the danger zone
