LIVERPOOL vs MAN CITY: 04/05/08 4pm - Match Build up and Discussion here.

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby metalhead » Thu May 01, 2008 2:04 pm

Alright

Lets forget about the defeat, it is now over and we can't change it. Lets enjoy our last two games and end the season on a high then look forward for the Euro 2008.

Now Manchester City at home, I expect Rafa to rest some players, but I hope he keeps the key players, like Torres and Gerrard in the lineup against Man City. I think Crouch and Lucas will start, going to a 4-4-2 formation.

Lineup would be:
Reina

riise
hyppia
carragher
finnan

babel
gerrard
lucas
pennant

torres
crouch

I predict a win for us, maybe 3-1 as Man City have been terrible in their last games.

EDIT-There s@int i put the GK now, satisfied? :D

Full strength squad.

May as well end the season on a high and get as close to the top three as possible.

I,m sorry to say but i cant get excited about playing city.....its going to be a bit of a "damp squid" on sunday an air of deflated disippointment will be hanging over anfield, after last night...i just want the season over now so we can concentrate on building (yet again) for next season, the coming months will be far more exciting than a "nothing to gain game against city".  ???

The best way to get over a defeat is to muller Man City, who themselves are in turmoil.

Then onto Tottenham Hotsperm.

I think we may struggle with that team Metalhead, playing without a goalkeeper is never a good idea, even against Citeh. :D

I would play a couple of reserves....... Insua and maybe Nemeth to keep Joe happy, as for the rest just mix and match from the squad.

I really could not give two sh1ts about this game and I expect we'll probably loose it as I would imagine morale must be cr@p right now in the team, lets just get the last two games out of the way, hopefully with some wins but at least without injuries and then get DIC in and do some serious buying in the summer, both players and possibly manager, taking Torres off, wtf? ???

Now we're playing for nothing we need to set ourselves a target or give ourselves a purpose. Playing this out might be a waste, saying that Citeh are hardly fighting for a u wafer spot so they may fold.

With Skrtel and Aurelio out we might get the chance to try out some younger players. And maybe give Alonso some time off and try Plessis, Lucas or one or two who may get more playing time next season. We could give this Nemeth kid a run out off the bench, maybe shut up Joe and others who insist on including him in their XI for EVERY game (seems like) Would have been a chance to play Carson except I don't suppose villa will take kindly to that or if we have a recall clause in the loan (I would guess so, be stupid not to)

Joe - feel free to suggest some CB or other options, my familiarity with our youth is limited (well below average I would say)

GK Reina/Carson
RB Arbeloa
LB Insua
CB Carragher
CB Hobbs
RM Pennant
LM Babel
CM Plessis
CM Mascherano/Gerrard
CM Lucas
CF Torres

Subs : Itandje, Hyypia, Benayoun, Kuyt/Crouch, Nemeth

Of course if I were to be advising Rafa, I would be advising him to pretend the players he is looking to sell have been sold and deem them unavailable. If Crouch is all but out of Anfield then why bother playing him, same goes for Alonso if he is someone's target. Make some use of this game, we could go out and try to whallop Citeh, but why bother?

His agent is called "Athole Still"

What kind of names are these?

Where does he find these guys?

A fucking disgrace.

What more do you want the man to do? We cant win the fucking European Cup every year.

He was given money in the summer and he spent in wisely.

Torres, Babel, Mash and Skertel.
