Villa are a decent side. We were missing our best player, we had to cope without Torres.

Hoddle, Keys and Rednapp are doom-mongering, but we have seven points, just like Chelsea.

Only second place on goal difference.

after 3 games were 2nd.  lets get the bubbly out shall we.

5 games played this season and not 1 decent performance.  Thats the worry.

Liverpool might be sold to DIC and they will bring in a manager that is just as good in the prem as he is in the CL.

Had a chance to go top today and open a gap on our rivals but we where far too negative from the off.

I know Benitez is still a popular figure at Anfield but my own opinion is that he is far too cautious and his team selection formation and substitutions today where poor. He will think a points a good result, and thats what he played for, but Villa where there for the taking on that performance.

Quite honestly it was dour effort from our team without a single shot on target for 90 mins which surely is not acceptable by anyones standard.

Desperate stuff again and its same old every game lately unfortunately.

I thought Masch played ok but got caught in possession a few times. Nobody really stood out again today. Our midfield while solid defensively couldn't create anything and our forwards ran hard but never looked like they would score.

I dont think he was p!ss poor, he had a decent game looked like the only one who tried to create something out of this game

Apart from one pass in the first half, I did'nt see him do anything that Kuyt couldn't have done. (and we all know the stick Kuyt gets!) All he did was lose possession make poor choices of pass and work hard (All things that Kuyt can do much better  :D  )

Only my opinion Metalhead

He should a bit of good one twos and passes in the second half, one of them with lucas.

He looked like the only player trying to create something in the game, was very unlucky in one of his chances when he was one on one with the keeper, but the excellent reo-coker tackled well

Point picked up against a upbeat Villa team

Good to see Masch on the pitch again brings a certain confidence to the back line knowing he is there

Better game for both Alonso and Keane

No we have not hit top form and yes we could do with width but we are up there and thats good enough for me.

Bring on United scum :D

guess you happy with then lando ?

I'd have been happier with a win, but when you consider the game, a point isn't too bad. We lost our goal threat after 26 minutes, Gerrard was already missing, and Keane couldn't hit a bull's anus with a Land Rover.

This is not a bad result. It's not brilliant, but it certainly isn't bad.

what about the performance?

Have you seen any champion, of any league, of any season winning all the games convincing?

I know the answer, don't bother.

that old chestnut again. get the performance right and result usually follows.  How can u expect to win games when the team is set up so negative.  we didnt try to win today.  I aint buying 'things will improve' as there is no excuse for why performances are so bad.  We showed nothing today.

tbh honest i am happy with the result but i am concerned that when we play the mancs or a team with real quality we will be embarrised, on the the whole transfer front, who is gonna want to come to us when they see weird decisions like today, i mean i can only asume that babbel is injured cause i think at least 90% of people on here would agree he would of been more of an attking threat than anyone else

Think this. We play :censored:, and the oppositions cannot beat us. Wait until Mascherano forgets the jetlag, and Gerrard comes back :D

Still struggling to find some form. Don't know what the f'uck is going on with the team, everybody with maybe the exception of Carra is playing way below expectations. We look pretty good at containing but sh'ite at creating.

Robbie Keane ? £ Twenty f'ucking million ??? , might at times have looked a bit classier than his team mates but call me picky,  I expect more for that kind of money.

Dossena ? we spent money on him for what ? he's better than Aurelio or even Risse ?

Only plus points, despite no Gerrard or Torres, Villa where still not good enough to beat us.
