Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

No Gerrard and Torres and this is what you'd get, a bunch of overpaid ordinary players running around the pitch. How many shots on target did we have??

It's 2 points dropped which could be decided if we are to be  champions or not , chelsea dropped points and we should have taken advantage , if manu beat us they will be on level points with a game in hand  :no

I was hoping that Sammy Lee would be able to talk some sense into Rafa when some of his decisions. Obviously this isn't happening, it's only got worse. Aurelio for Kuyt?? Bennayoun for Keane?? WTF were those subs all about. Why can we all see the issues but Rafa can't?
Rafa seemed happy to play for the draw. We will never win the league with that attitude. Maybe it's time for a change, maybe...

Sammy Lee is a "Yes-Man".....Why did u think rafa hired him in the 1st place ?

Yeah... they're not that bad a team you know

Chelsea should have beat Tottenham today? Didn't happen did it, but they're favourites for the title

difference is chelsea have actually showed something in there games this season.  We have showed very very little.  U cant defend todays performance.  No game should we come away with not 1 shot on target.  Thats abysmal.

The thing is Villa didn't play well, they were there for the taking. I could be happy with a point if they were excellent and deserved the win, but they didn't.

As usual we were far to cautious with our approach. I would of been happier losing the game if we had gone out to play football and win rather then play awful and draw. Imagine all the lads who have paid £40 for a ticket plus travel costs. Its aright us at home saying a point is good enough, I'd be fuming if I had gone there and watched them over paid excuses for footballers jog around.

Same story as last season I'm afraid, drawing games we should easily win.

p.s. I'd take anyone of Deco, Arshavin, Modric over Keane for the simple fact is they can't play anywhere else apart from off the front man. But thats what Rafa's scared of.

Robbie Keane ? £ Twenty f'ucking million ??? , might at times have looked a bit classier than his team mates but call me picky,  I expect more for that kind of money.

Dossena ? we spent money on him for what ? he's better than Aurelio or even Risse ?

Only plus points, despite no Gerrard or Torres, Villa where still not good enough to beat us.

Your a nut job dossana looked good when he got forward.

You guys remember these players are following what rafa tells them he sets up the team to play like this when doss got wide he put in 4/5 balls was very good just poor movement in box plus good defending.

I must say he looks more a left midfielder then left back.

To say dossana was poor is stupid he was very good in my eyes one of best on pitch today.

Mabye reason rafa didn't take him off.

No, the performance wasn't good.

But it wasn't as bad as some of you overreacting nancy-boys are making out.

we were poor, thats all it comes down to. villa rent all that, and even if they are... ZERO attempts on target? not good enough. lets buy another 20mill striker and put him on the wing ???

I don't get some fans on here... seriously, you expect too much. Whatever you might think we're no way near as good as Man Utd and Chelsea, and you need to come back down to reality.

We BOSSED the game against Villa. Our defence was rock solid. Villa have one of the best attacking teams in the PL and Skrtel and Carragher had them sorted all game. The problem was we lacked imagination on midfield. That might be why Yossi came on. It's something we need to sort out, but it's something that CAN be sorted out pretty easily. It's not like we're defending like shyte and have no hope. Maybe we should have got 3 points, but we didn't. We didn't deserve them - no shots on target, speaks for itself.

People need to stop living in a bubble. 7 out of 9 aint bad. We're undefeated and have gone to two tough away grounds already. We have an international break now, which is a very good thing imo. It gives Rafa 10 days or so to look back over our past games and see where we've gone wrong and how we can improve and get the passing movement flowing again.

There should be 2 match threads from now on, a Positive one and a Negative one.  That way the people who don't expect maximum points in all the games can have discussion; and those who think we need to play like an All-Star team of the worlds greatest XI can have a conversation when we don't play to perfection.

Spot on i think keane did well today deffo top 3 in contenion for MOM , he showed the class he's capable of of and still has not gelled , hopefully he scorers the most meaningful goal to kick start his LFC career , a winner against manure .

Rafa has missed a  few key signings the most noticeable being wright phillips .

I'd say a positive that could come out of todays game (late night for me) would be that the owners/manager finally realise we need ACTUAL wingers on the wings
