Fernando Torres will make his competitive debut for Liverpool alongside Dirk Kuyt in the forward line at Aston Villa this afternoon.

This is last seasons line up apart form Torres FFS!

I predict a 0-0 with 3 clear clut chances missed from us.

We have left out Kewell, Benayoun, Crouch, Mascherano, Paletta, Levia, Leto and Aurelio is injured plus we are trying to add Heinze, how are we going to keep the majority of our squad happy and focused?

on rafa selections i took out kewell and couldn't decide between yossi and babel. was sure it had to be one of them.

how could i forget rafa always puts one

Looks like it will be rotation again this season..........

This is the confirmed line-up. Guess riise is playing left wing...not a fan of him at left wing.

Kewell...well, what else is there left to say about this enigma.
As for the 3 Argies and Leiva, there wasn't much chance they'd feature yet. Besides Mascherano still needs rest anyway.

Benayoun im a little surprised about, same as Crouch really.

Looks like it will be 0-0 cos

1)not a fan of alonso & gerrard midfield pairing as gerrard tends to do a lot more defending. Thats why i prefer a macherano and gerrard midfield pairing.

2)not a fan of riise on the left wing....For me wingers should be like ronaldo or at least pennant....ie...taking on players and putting crosses in. Riise doesn't do that against decent opposition.

3)No crouch ?

But i will be estatic with an "own goal" 1-0 win....
