LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL - 15 aug 2010, ko: 16:00

Liverpool Football Club - Games

With Stevie G on form we can win this if he can work his magic.

I think Poulson will have a good game, he seems like an absolute beast in the tackle and the Arsenal kids are often exposed against physical opposition.

Exactly, farkinell it's not as though Rafa Benitez is managing us we can be a little more optimistic.
Football is a relatively simple game and Roy knows it ;)

Was hoping to do this 1, but Dundalk beat me to it.  :(

Torres being fit to play is unlikely, and even if he does he is unlikely to be the Torres we hope he is, after months of injury etc....

Gerrard is on fire, Cole and Jovanovic will be fired up, and unless Wenger is just playing mind games Fabregas and RVP won't feature.

So that is the hopeful side of me trying to talk up a win.....

I would play (presuming no Torres and Agger, both not fit?? and Masch not being risked in case he gets injured)

                 Reina

Johnson   Carra   Skrtl   Aurelio

Maxi    Gerrard   Lucas (or Poulsen)    Jovanovic

                Cole
                   Ngog

absolutely no need for that

I fancy us to beat these comfortably. Their defence looked well dodgy in their last friendly so I reckon if we rattle them early on we'll be fine

I reckon we could get 6 out of 6 for the start of the season. Mancini will be rotating like mad to suss his 25 so I reckon we can go on and be top after the first 2

Half their team is injured so we meet them at a good time even if we dont have Torres. We might just win this.

They do indeed have lots of injuries.

Team for me:

                                         Reina

                Johnson     Carragher     Agger      Aurelio

                          Gerrard              Poulsen

                                      Aquilani
                 Cole                                       Jovanovic

                                       Ngog

I just can't see us winning with N'gog he doesn't fill me with much confidence in scoring.

Id say it will be something like this......

Dont think Roy will risk Torres, but maybe he'll be on the bench.

Remember that Robbie Fowler 9 minute hat-trick all those years ago?

How we could do with a "Robbie" type display from someone tomorrow.

To be fair to the lad, he did score against the Mancs last season.  :)

A central midfield of Aquilani and Gerrard would not fill me with confidence against Arsenal.  Pair Stevie with either Masch or Poulsen.  Ans, yes, I'd take Lucas over Aquilani in that position.
