ill go with dundalk on a 2.1 win.
def think its gonna be a tough game for us,they are firing well in preseason and a few players starting to gel.they have many threats and no doubt will have a few chances but i think pepe will be the difference between the two teams.
jovanovich and cole for us.:D .
would like to see us line out like this.
                                                reina.
                johnson.         carra.             agger.          aurelio.
                                            masch.
                                      gerrard.
                         cole.                             jovanovich.
                                               aqua.
                                     wash.
subs.kuyt,babel,lucas,pacheco,kygiriakos,skyrtel,kelly,insua and maxi.

I'm really disapointed that we haven't replaced ngog as I think this could be what let's us down in this game. Torres is amazing but ngog is cak!

6 - 1 (gerrard, cole, ngog x4) :p
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

We need to attack there :censored: goal keepers... but 2-1 to us will do me fine. :)

I've heard nothing to suggest Arsenal will be without Fabregas, especially as he is not leaving. This obviously makes the job somewhat harder, but if anything their pre-season tour has highlighted how weak defensively they are.

is there a chance Masch could start this game?

what are the odds on Torres playing as well?

also what injuries do Arsenal have? - If Cesc and VP dont start I will be optimistic come kick off

Answers to any of those three would be appreciated

Not heard of Fabregas or Van Persie being injured or unable to play - they are venerable at the back and that gives us a chance but slim without Torres . Can see this being a scoreless draw .

Wenger said after Arsenal's game the other day that Fabregas and van Persie won't be in the squad.

Ok, to be fair I can't see us playing either Torres or Kuyt either.

Think id take a draw here to be honest.  But i hope we nick it at the death :D
Id like to see something like this.

                 Reina
johnson  Carra  Agger  Aurelio/kelly
                Masch/Lucas
Maxi             Gerrard        Jovanovic
             Cole
                      Torres/ngog

You have to look at the match fit players. I find it hard to believe that Hodgson will start any players who have had no pre-season games or minutes. The only exception would be Reina, he didn't play in the world cup and as playing positions go, goalkeeper requires the least fitness work.

With that in mind, I would hazard a guess at

                         Reina

Johnson      Carragher      Skrtel      Kelly

              Gerrard      Lucas

Maxi                Cole               Jovanovic

                      Ngog

Subs: Cavalieri, Wilson, Aurelio, Aquilani, Shelvey, Kyrgiakos

Arsenal as a rule usually hit the ground running ,and its usually a given our Bitter neighbours are handed a 7 goal thrashing .... this in turn is when all the Gooner's usually declare they our now serious title contenders, and all will be swept before them .... However we are not cannon fodder for the top teams like our friends in Blue ....we are Liverpool and we don't as a rule sit back and watch teams play their own style of football.... we get in their faces and stop them performing ,and then and only then ...when they look demoralised and devoid of ideas  we start to play ....
This has been the Liverpool blueprint for countless years ..... so I seriously hope the manager is not thinking about playing with the same attacking verve as Arsenal, and matching them like for like ...... this would be suicide we simply do not have the personnel to compete at this stage... It is with this in mind I think we will snatch a goal in a lightning counter attack and snatch a 1-0 win or for that matter a 1-1 draw .... that said I think this is possibly the worst game the manager could have been handed for his Premiership bow, and I just hope the fans treat it as such whatever the result  ..  Frankly nervous about  this one ??? I would definitely settle for a draw at this delicate stage of Roys rebuilding

If we could play like we did against Utd at Anfield last year... all season... we'd be doing well.
