LIVERPOOL VS MAN UTD - ALL DISCUSSION HERE...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I dont think we will see Mascherano and Alonso play to much together in the middle, not as a midfield four anyway to similar.
Do think he will go on to be a great signing for us though, i hear Rafas already looking into sorting a longer deal ( no secret to be fair ), you could see the guys class in the second half, you cant hide class, and more importantly for a player who hasnt played for over six months he worked hard and looked stong. But it is a specialist position and i think Alonso will get the nod.
Not bad having two of the best in that position in are side though is it? add to that Steve and Momo, with better wingers we would be top.
Anyway 2-1
Dont judge a book by the cover, unless you cover just another, because blind exceptance is a sign,

If we aim to win this than Sami can't play. Love what's he done over the years but with his immobility, Manure's pace when going forward, we would be slaughtered

Against Man U, personally I would go with:
              Reina
Finnan     Carra   Hyypia   Arbeloa
Gerrard    Mascherano   Riise
     Fowler               Bellamy
               Crouch
SUBS:
Dudek
Pennant
Alonso
Agger
Kuyt

Pennant to come on early in the second half for Bellamy and switch to a 4-4-2 with pennant wide right.   Still putting out an agressive side that is capable of winning at home, gaining very valuable match minutes for Mascherano and Arbeloa, while at the same time resting Alonso, Kuyt, Agger, and Sissoko for the game on mid-week.

thank god this will never happen.

Its not THAT different from the squad that you suggested.  We had identical back lines, you had Momo instead of Mascherano, which I don't agree with, because I think Mascherano needs as much playing time as possible to get used to playing in big time matches.  Other than that you have alonso and kuyt in instead of crouch and bellamy.  Obviously, your 2 players have more talent and you have them in their more regular positions, but mine is a much more attacking formation, and certainly would throw Man U off guard.  I think my biggest weakness might be having fowler play as like a right forward, he might lack the pace to play there, but we both put him in the starting 11.

I expect Rafa to select a strong side but one with Wednesday night in mind. I imagine we will see a couple of guys rested for Barca. The likes of Sami, Pennant and Mascherano will get a run out on saturday.

That's a bizarre formation, they'd just play right down the middle!
Dropping Alonso? why? he was rested on Saturday.
Where's Momo?
Crouch? Broken nose
Fowler on the right?  :help

If this a Deja vu ... I have a book a ticket to Greece in the Final.

IMO we have got to play out strongest line up against man u and barca because we need win both instead of resting players.  Man u are going to go at us because with this win they will 12pts ahead of Chelsea.

Also if we get a good win on sat it will help the confidence against barca.

Beat the scums...and i am pretty sure chelsea will win the premier league (at least the scums aren't any nearer to our 18 titles)...

Beat barcelona - and we could go on a run to become....6 times, 6 times, 6 times, 6 times, 6 times.......6 times european champions.....

Not sure why.....just feeling a little optimistic all of a sudden about how this season is gonna end.... We can just go on a run and win all our remaining games....
