Also, it's not the end of the world if we don't win. Regardless of what everyone says, I believe you can't lose the title on the first day.
You are correct; it wouldn’t be wise to start the two new strikers together in the opening match of the season.
Ideally, Voronin and Crouch will play together as Voronin has had an impressive pre-season and undoubtedly his confidence must be sky high. Crouch is a reliable player who always provides a good source of goals; therefore IMO these two should start.
What you say is true; it’s not the end of the world if the team comes away with 1 point or 0 points from Villa Park. However bear in mind, if the team is going to improve this season then the away form must pick up and the team cannot afford to be dropping two or three points against decent clubs such as Aston Villa.
If the team loses to Villa, the next game is to Chelsea and if the team fails to beat Chelsea, the point’s difference could be as much as four to six points between Liverpool and the league leaders. This puts the teams at a disadvantage as MU and Chelsea don’t often drop points to teams such as Villa.
The team needs to go out away from home and the collect the points and not just for points table but for momentum and confidence. If the team beats Villa in the opening game of the season in tough away terrain as Villa Park will prove to be, this will put the team in good stead for the Chelsea game. A positive result in the Chelsea game then has a knock on effect and so forth.

although i think finnan is a far better player
