It was actually skrtel's fault for injuring him self, he was ball watching and didn't see evans closing on him.

but it happens in football, he needs to be careful, Im hoping for a speedy recovery because he is doing well lately. Get well soon lad!

Carra was shouting at him telling him to get up, carra :D

metalhead Posted on Oct. 05 2008,19:55Benitez knew he made a mistake today, he should have kept the same formation that played PSV and Everton, When Gerrard moved back to his favorite position he started to play better, he did a top class tackle in the end of the second half and was magnificant. He was wasted behind Torres, absolutely wasted. Keane also added another dimension to our attack when he came on. Alonso was excellent in the second half.

totally agree metalhead he didnt look comfortable at all and was misplacing passes all over the show, he drifted out wide a few times and over hit cross after cross. Looked a different player when we went 442

GET F.UCKING IN!!!!!!!!!!!! :buttrock

What a fantastic result after looking dead and buried at half time.  Whisper it quietly but we look like we mean business this season.  Made up for everyone of the lads that helped us claw it back and for Rafa for correcting things when Plan A went down the pan.  A great day! :nod

I thought we played reasonably well in the first half even though we went 2-0 down. We could just as easily been a goal up when Kuyt missed that sitter (just before Citeh scored).

Second half I thought we started to play with a little more adventure even before the subs came on.
I thought Arbeloa and Aurelio both struggled defensively and Gerrard was very poor , but typically Gerrard and Arbeloa combined well to set up Torres first goal, while Gerrard provided the cross for Torres second. YES WE SCORED FROM A CORNER!.

Kuyt who I thought was having a decent game (apart from in front of goal) broke his duck in the league with the winner, which seemed to have been coming for sometime.

I thought Riera started well again but faded as the game went on while Torres who seemed to be being out muscled by Dunne and Richards early on, went on to be my MO.T.M. and could have had 3 or 4.

Unbelievable game to watch, incredible result , yet surprisingly expected (if thats possible?) once we got the first goal back.

Great result today, but I’d be happy if we are still challenging in April. Very little chance we will win the league. Our first 11 and squad is not as strong as Chelsea’s and Man Utd’s, and that’s a fact.

We're seven games in lad. Get a grip.

Benitez done his best to :censored: it all up again though didn't he?

Wonder what would have happened had we done the insanely stupid thing and actually kept the same side from the off?

Thank Robbie for Torres. Seriously.

As to why he felt the need to drop Keane and move Gerrard out of the position he's finding form in when the team's starting to play well is beyond me. He'll never learn, today summed it up for me and next time we might not get so lucky.

There's no better manager in the league for making subs that make a positive impact on the game. Rafa's record at doing this is second to none. Anyone want to argue?

TBH hes only saying what everyone else would have been saying if we had lost. The difference being WE WON, and not many teams will go to citeh and win this season.

I'll think about getting a grip tomorrow, Stu.  Today's for actually enjoying the fact that we came from 2-0 down on the road to win against a decent side.  If you can't enjoy these moments than what's the point of following football?  Tomorrow I'll be happy to talk about Rafa's unnecessary change to the formation.  Tonight I'm happy to revel in the victory and entertain the idea that we might just have the type of resilience that puts us in the mix for a title challenge this season.

BTW, Saint, I completely agree--as soon as we pulled the first one back it felt like we were odds on to complete the comeback.  The two other goals didn't surprise me in the least.  The only surprise was the Torres miss and, even then, I figured he'd get another shot. :nod

Oh, without question, that's a nasty injury, and a bad spot for any football: the knees. I'd be amazed to see the Skrt back anytime before Christmas.

I know mate, I agree to an extent that Rafa should have selected the same team, but he changed around a bit and it didnt work, full credit to him for turning it back to the same one.

However, stu, chill the :censored: out mate, be happy we won!

Poor Skrtl. I hope he recovers soon. I was just about to get him into my FF as well. Fingers crossed Agger stays fit now.

I think we should look on the bright side, Rafa made ONE CHANGE, this time last year he would have made FIVE.
