"Kuyt is a slightly below average player and would shine at a club like bolton"

This was preceeded with "kuyt is to football what penquins are to flying"

and this is him tryin to be nice to the fella..... there is no point wasting your time

Kuyt was sound last night.  Scored one and had a hand in another goal.  A good day at the office by most standards.

We all know Kuyt is no world beater but he has earned so much respect for his sheer work rate.  You have to give him credit for doing a job with his heart and soul.

Kuyt did well last night and scored a goal (even if the keeper made a boob) which he has more than deserved.  Riera wasn't up to much on the other side of the pitch.  Hope that's not a regular thing.

Lee are you serious here? having heard about the "unseen" work of Alonso for years, can the work which Gerrard has done over the last two games really be invisible? I heard some people calling him after the Everton game, and it was the most complete performance he has given as a central midfielder for many a year.

This time around, the game was won after half an hour so he just cruised through, bossed it and smashed in a 30 yard free kick at the end. How on earth though people can say he was poor last night (and your by no means the only one) is a total mystery to me. I don't know what else to say really.

mick - you've read me post wrong mate. I was pointing out to aCe and the other Kuyt bashers that both Kuyt and gerrard played to the same level last night. both scored, but gave max effort but both misplaced some wayward passes. But it always seems to be Kuyt that kops for the flack.
I was by no means pulling down gerrard at all mate.

Exactly. He made his mind up ages ago and closed it. It's not like people are arguing he's a brilliant player, scores lots of goals and is our star player. He is a hard working and important member of the team whose minimum contribution is hard work.

But you get retarded comments like "he scores every 15 games" (can't remember who said that) In fact he's so bad he was our top scorer in Europe last season and has scored twice already in this season's competition, second only to Gerrard. If it weren't for Dirk Kuyt we might not be in the group stages.

That's easy to say, but because we don't know, you can also argue that because of him we didn't score until late in extra time because our threat down the right side wasn't great enough...

We can paint it however we like really can't we?

A good performance from kuyt. Far more positives once again than negatives once again last night . The rants of ace and fodne are blinkered in the fact they just dont like him .

Who ever said I don't like him?

You have to put words into my mouth to defend the indefensible now ay?

Balanced? You're having a laugh?

You're the least balanced person on here and if you think that was Liverpool playing well last night then that shows how clueless you really are. The only player who'd get an 8/10 last nite was Torres, the rest would get 6's and 7's. It was an average performance with the same old things costing us possession and a goal.

Im sorry mr blinkered and clueless show me where i said liverpool played well last night ??

Least balanced ? i think that title firmly belongs to you - to be balanced you have to post both negatives and positives and so far never ever seen you post anything positive so makes you very imbalanced .

Quite simply because Gerrard is usually a seven or eight of ten player every week and Kuyt's usually a 6/10 every week. Last night he'd get a seven and was decent, yet people are going on about him like he's as good as Torres, Gerrard, Alonso, Reina or Mascherano.

He's nowhere near that standard of player, he's not good enough for this team. Simple as.
