Lee are you serious here? having heard about the "unseen" work of Alonso for years, can the work which Gerrard has done over the last two games really be invisible? I heard some people calling him after the Everton game, and it was the most complete performance he has given as a central midfielder for many a year.
This time around, the game was won after half an hour so he just cruised through, bossed it and smashed in a 30 yard free kick at the end. How on earth though people can say he was poor last night (and your by no means the only one) is a total mystery to me. I don't know what else to say really.

Exactly. He made his mind up ages ago and closed it. It's not like people are arguing he's a brilliant player, scores lots of goals and is our star player. He is a hard working and important member of the team whose minimum contribution is hard work.
But you get retarded comments like "he scores every 15 games" (can't remember who said that) In fact he's so bad he was our top scorer in Europe last season and has scored twice already in this season's competition, second only to Gerrard. If it weren't for Dirk Kuyt we might not be in the group stages.
GYBS wrote:well watching him last night he had the odd dodgy touch just like everyone else , he kept possession and lost it just like everyone else , he took players on and got past them and sometimes didnt just like everyone else , he showed great skill and strength to hold off three players going round two of them to release torres to set up keanes goal and scored himself , plus his normal tracking back and workrate and defending . A good performance from kuyt. Far more positives once again than negatives once again last night . The rants of ace and fodne are blinkered in the fact they just dont like him .

GYBS wrote:the thing is jimmy some people happy to give balanced views of the player and off his performance but the odd people , not yourself , just give the same negative stuff every single time no matter how he has played the game before and how well he did or didnt do . Last night he was one of our better performers and got his rewards yet some wont give any credit when it is once again deserved .

Balanced? You're having a laugh?
You're the least balanced person on here and if you think that was Liverpool playing well last night then that shows how clueless you really are. The only player who'd get an 8/10 last nite was Torres, the rest would get 6's and 7's. It was an average performance with the same old things costing us possession and a goal.

mick - you've read me post wrong mate. I was pointing out to aCe and the other Kuyt bashers that both Kuyt and gerrard played to the same level last night. both scored, but gave max effort but both misplaced some wayward passes. But it always seems to be Kuyt that kops for the flack.
I was by no means pulling down gerrard at all mate.

That's easy to say, but because we don't know, you can also argue that because of him we didn't score until late in extra time because our threat down the right side wasn't great enough...
We can paint it however we like really can't we?
