ok here is one for you guys, kuyt scored. i feel the keeper made a mistake. that any other keeper would have done better. if THAT type of goal was scored against us, would u blame the keeper, or would u think that it was a good strike?

All that matters is he scored... that reflects his ability! Nothing else.

I made reference to it as well further up - not a direct reply though.

Great question and yes, we'd be cursing the keeper - certainly not praising the opposition player for getting a slightly iffy shot on target.

Kuyt is in the team whether you love him or hate him, we can't change that. 

I personally don't see him as a long term solution but he's in Rafa's plans until we have a better option.  Rafa doesnt seem to rate Babel (fook knows why he bought him) so get behind Kuyt and the team.

I still don't think Kuyt is good enough for LFC but as long as plays I'll back him.

he scored... even if he hadn't scored id be sticking up for the guy, he gets far to much abuse on this site

Look as usual opinions get polarised on this forum ,Kuyt is either class or . He's neither ,he's a hard working proffesional ,who gives 100% every game . Every successful team has had them and needs them . THey are the the grafters, the unsung hero's, the mister averarges . He's one of them and he's good at it .Your not gonna get your fancy 40 yard passes or your million stepovers whilst taking on 12 men and knocking it in the net for good measure. Live with it , he'll get you the odd goal and he'll close down all day ,and the system were playing at the minute is pretty balanced. You can play Pennant out there ,but your not going to get the defensive side that Kuyt brings ,so with riera on the left providing the width with the left back . Leave old Dirk to get on with a job that rafa's asked him to do on the right.


Pity we paid £10 million for him as a striker.

This is the place where you don't [i]have{/i] to blindly shout and cheer the players, because it's miles away from supporting them on the pitch on matchday. They don't read this, they won't have their confidence knocked by it, it won't affect their performance.

When you stand on the Kop on matchday, then get behind the team regardless because they need you and your voice combined with 40,000+ others will make a difference to the team, the performance and the result.

I'm not a fukwit.... it just winds me up that you are a supporter of my club but youhave such negative comments. I have also noticed that your comments on some threads are opposite to your comments on others.... obviously not about kuyt... u just have a dislike for the guy and wont give credit where credit is due.

Grow up and listen to other peoples posts and give them the respect you demand off others.

1. Why should I listen to people talking about something they know nothing about? I'm being told here how good it is that you're right sided midfielder is running upto players in the centre of the pitch. What kind of rubbish is that? Do you think that deserves respect? I'm sorry, but no!

2. I don't give a toss whether I wind you up. If it winds you up so much, don't come on an internet forum.

3. The comments aren't negative. They are very realistic and pointing out the flaws in the overly positive arguements and balancing them out.

4. How are my comments opposite in some threads than in others?

5. I don't dislike Kuyt at all, the lads a decent squad player as a third or fourth choice striker. Nothing more, nothing less. Never a right midfielder and never a first team quality player. Anyone who thinks he is is deluding themselves.

6. When he does something that deserves credit instead of relying on luck he'll get credit. Its all well and good praising people when they don't deserve it, but it doesn't get you anywhere.

7. I respect people who know what they are talking about. There are very few on this board however. But occassionally the ones that do make it worth while sticking around.

in your opinion, which to you is important - thats fair enough, your entitled to it.

however, in MY opinion I reckon Kuyt did really well last night and is begining to be a reliable team player. He aint up to C.Ronaldo trickery but he's solid and a grafter and Rafa has come to rely on Kuyt so if he's good enough for Rafa's team then I'll back him and Rafa all the way.

umm isnt the basic concept of the game to get the ball into the back of the net ? Didnt kuyt do that ? There is only the top class players that do everything to high standard ie torres gerrard messi etc . No one has said kuyt is like that . And you must of watched a different game to many people last night ? Lots of gaps ? I didnt say many ? Slagging him of for chasing down the ball and players ? What next ?

Ok, well heres an example for you. If I've got the ball and I'm in the centre of the pitch and I see the right sided player come running towards me I'd look straight away for my left back or left winger knowing for a fact one of them would be free. If I couldn't actually make the pass I'd look to realease it to a player who could get the ball into that position as thats where the space is.

That happened 5 or 6 times last night as Kuyt went mindlessly chasing the ball infield and they picked him off. Had a better player been receiving the ball then they would have used the space alot better.

Now in football, alot of circumstances lead to goals, now if you give a player like Evra that kind of space, he'll step on the accelerator and run at your team causing it to lose shape, chances are he'll play a pass... to someone like Rooney or Tevez or Ronaldo then bang, you're 1-0 down and chasing the game.

Against the best sides, its little details like that, that cost you points, goals, possession and everything else. Now, if you don't pick up on them and eradicate them against the lesser teams, then you're going to get punished when you play the better sides.

Football is about more than just running around alot. A hell of a lot more.

i never said anything about it being a good goal or not. but fact is, i give him credit when its due. you can read my post a few pages back when i praised him for his part in Keane's goal..

but the thing is, whenever Kuyt scores, its a big deal. yes its a big deal cause its a Liverpool goal, and yes its a big deal cause he hardly scores. but would you blame the keeper for that type of goal?

1. Yes fodne i have played football to a decent standard . 2. Who else was chasing down the player or the ball ? Would you rather that player was left with space and time to pick out a pass going forward as opposed to going to left back ? Kuyt chased down left back centre back as did keane and torres . Ie they all worked together to put pressure onto the opposition . Kuyt did the same chasing in the manc game and every other game . Also max yes the keeper may of done better but to be honest i couldnt care as we scored and thats all that matters to me . Keeper made a great save from torres and kuyt followed up with a shot on target , goal scored one nil up in the first 5 mins . Job done .
