Scott is spot on.

The thing I don't get is that everybody agrees he works hard. Then I don't understand the excesive stick including insults. Voronin doesn't get as much, and I'm not sure what to answer when I ask myself if he's providing more than Bellamy.

well sabre the expectations between kuyt and voronin were different... kuyt was a goal scoring machine in holland for 2-3 years... we barely even heard of voronin...

Not only that.

Voronin was:

a) free

b) considered 4th choice and nothing else

c) has been played as a 4th choice getting the least minutes etc

Kuyt was:

a) rather expensive at £9m

b) is considered starting material

c) has played more than any other striker practically never getting subbed no matter how poor he is.

And the difference in ability and quality is almost non existant.
I'd say based on just ability alone Voronin shades it.

Kuyt was very good today, unlucky not to score.

if kuyt is not scoring enough goals then rafa has to bear part of the blame... it is his tactics after all and you don't score 20-30 goals for 4 seasons in a row in the dutch league without having some finishing quality...

When a player plays in an inferior league you have to take a deep look on the player's overall quality and skill level.

Kezman scored for fun in Holland but was abysmal in England.
While Nistelrooy could do the business.
That means you can't just expect 20 goals a season just cause a player did that in the dutch league.

even if you take a deep look on the player's overall quality and skill level he may not succeed in the PL (morientes)...

morientes scored 12 goals in 1 1/2 season with us

kuyt has scored 14 goals in his first season... he may not be top class player like morientes but he can succeed in the PL... relatively...

2 goals in four games for Kuyt, 'coinciding' with a run of four full games - last time he scored 2 in four games was last time he played four full games. I'm sure we can do better, I would be seriously tempted to sell both Kuyt and Crouch to raise funds. Then again I would have kept God knowing he could do as good a job as any of the others, I hear Torres is the first Liverpool striker to score 20+ in a season for 5 years (I assume the last was Mikey)
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

So far, over 70% of those who have participated in the poll think he should be sold/released.

So far he has impressed me in the last 3 games.  He was one of the best players against Inter and Boro, but if Rafa sees him as a wide player than we really should be looking for someone else.  I wouldn't mind him or Crouch being the 3rd choice, as long as we bring in someone new.

I feel sorry for him being stuck on the right wing (although earning huge money so I don't :D ) - as far back as I remember LFC have bought expensive tall centre forwards and then stuck them out wide - Collymore, Cisse, Kuyt,

Can anyone explain the stupidity?

mikey was 20 overall , our last player to reach the 20 goal mark in the premier league was the legend robbie fowler i think

listen kuyt was never any good in the 1st place but so called experts in the media start saying that once he get used to the prem he will be a hit and start scoring a lot of goals, which mean he was missing many chances.

the reason they were saying this is because from a distance his record at feynoord looks impressive.

Senior clubs1
years          Club           App (Gls)*
1998-2003   FC Utrecht   184 (66)
2003-2006   feynoord      122 (83)
2006-         Liverpool       066 (15)

he always got 20 league goals in holland, but at closer look his general play is very immature and lacks vision and skill. if he had a better manager like ramos he actually might be ok.
