DIRK KUYT - Official Thread

Pretty sure Dirk's thinking of his declining earning power more than resale value so one more good move to secure top wages would be his priority. Who wouldn't? Unless your Carra in teh Resrves on 90 thou a week....

he`s not good enough to justify starting every game, kuyt has been a great servant to the club but i wouldnt say he`s been a great player for us, he`s often had spells were for 2 months he has stunk the place out but then he`ll pop up with a crucial goal in a big game and the previous 2 months are forgotten.
he`s the ideal squad player imo but if he`s not happy being a squad player then we should let him go.
to be fair as well he`s the wrong side of 30 and whilst that is by no means old in the modern game it`s not ideal for someone who bases his game around hard graft, lets face it he`s got a lot of miles on the clock, how much more has he realistically got in those legs?
if he`s happy to be a squad player i`d keep him, you know what you are going to get from him, but selling him at the end of the season might be the sensible thing to do.

I will be sad to see the back of that crazy dutch ba'stard, our very own Goldmember.
But life goes on and if he thinks he should play in every game, it wont be with us.
Lets just hope he doesnt cross the park to the baby mancs

Kuyt isn't that great as a player, he's all right but nothing special. His mentality and commitment though is something that is hard to find these days, that's why it will be a big loss when he leaves. I would like him to stay, but I'd understand if he leaves.

I don't blame Dirk for eyeing up a possible departure from Anfield. Everytime he performs for us, he puts in maximum effort, he always looks dangerous and offers far more threat than the right side than Jordan Henderson does. He's still a good footballer and I think he, Bellamy and Maxi should be playing a lot more than they have done, because quite frankly at this moment in time they offer more offensively than Henderson or Downing.

Completely agree with that Boxscarf, and if every player we have put in the effort that those three do, we'd be a lot better off in the league right now

It is believed a clause in the player's contract would allow him to leave Anfield for £1 million this summer.  :Oo:

Looks like age and salary are at play here, some sort of club policy now perhaps?

You hit a certain age and they no longer think your wage is value so its not a
performance realted policy, just pure finance and long term book keeping.

Doubt it will apply to Carra like but there you go  :glare:

I think it's *****. How would Arnesan know the details of the contract? Unless the agent revealed it of course. But then, despite his age, he's worth more than that don't you think so?

I would keep Kuyt, definately.

Thing is it looks like hes being edged out when hes done nothing wrong
on the park and Im sure has said he wishes to stay, with this in mind
you can only conclude either Dalglish doesnt fancy him, he wants more
money, or its club policy.

I dont get the impression Kuyts a grabber or that Dalglish has any justification
for not wanting him (certainly judging the way others have played) so my guess
is its money, age, policy, and he has to go.

if it was performance related he would have been gone long ago.
lets hope he can pick up another winners medal before he leaves

A guy I imagine we'd want to keep around the club to be honest.

Superb attitude on and off the pitch, great example to all the younger players and always can be relied upon in big games.

If he wants to play more games though we should respect that and let him move on, we owe him that at least.

I love Kuyt. I always have a big, warm room in my heart for the foreign players who become true scousers. That's what Kuyt is. Scouse through and through. Just like Big Jan Molby. Whatever Kuyt does next, he will always be ours, and we will always be his.
