As much as I rated Benitez and appreciate what he did, Dalglish will get more out of Bellamy. He will man manage him better and like Mark Hughes, he will reap the benefits.

He won't be starting every week, which will probably suit him at 32 and with his injury record. But he will probably play more than some think. Twice the player Ngog is in terms of back up and already knows the club and the league.

An absolute no brainer on a free regardless of wages.

Why are people questioning what he can do because of his age? Hes 32, not 52 ! How old is Ryan Giggs? and look at how well he has done. And I agree with John Craig, Dalglish will get the best out of Bellamy and I cannot see him causing any disruption at all, he is after all playing for his hero.

Simon Shaw the England rugby second row turned 38 yesterday. Needless to say there is so much more impact in rugby so a fit and motivated 32 year old should be able to keep going nother 2 years without too many problems. Except Carra who's knackered.

Comparing the fitness of players from two different sports is folly.

There was a rugby league fella over here who joined the AFL game. He couldn't keep up, had to lose weight in order to get round the pitch more.

Rugby players don't need the athletic stamina a footballer does - they are literally athletes today.

Never the less, I'm not arguing that Bellamy won't cope, I agree at 32 he can still do the bizz. And I'm glad he's joined the club.

Bellamy is a great addition but let's not compare apples with oranges. Rugby doesn't even register on the aerobic stamina chart. Sure there is stamina but it's anaerobic stamina, akin to boxing.

The Bellamy signing, if anything, is to provide a substitute for Suarez. It also means Carroll is safe, it's clear that Kenny favours Carroll with a nimble and skilful foil (aka Suarez or Bellamy).

i think u weren't there too when he scored a last min 44 yard free kick that grab us the last place for champs league.

for me, age is never an issue but the commitment and desire to play for the club that counts. n I sure Bellamy will make a positive impact on the team.

UEFA cup final V Alvez (sp).

Balance between experience and youth is another key factor when building a squad. I read on here somewhere that Bellamy is good in the dressing room for getting the players pumped up before a game.

Dunno why you say that. Suarez is in a league of his own. One of those exceptional talents. Heck, if we get someone as good as Suarez, great! Not going to happen though!

well if Judas didn't decide to become Judas, we would have had Suarez and Torres pairing. I was talking about that kind of calibre pairing... like Kenny and Rush...

Might prove to be a good option for this season if he can get to top fitness and is given his chances. Not too excited by the reported wages hes on (80k ?) and I dont think hes a long term option for us but he'll do a job for now. I'd be inclined to start him down the flank and have him/Kuyt and Downing providing the support for Suarez until Carroll starts performing to his potential...

Decent buy overall but yet again, a risky move by Kenny that could go either way.

There's no way the club is paying him 80 thou a week at 32, must be some mistake. He was supposedly on 90 at Citech. Wouldnt pay him a penny more than 40.

I was actually in the stands .

Gary Mac was totally different , he was a cultured cm whose game didnt rely on pace and he was superbly fit for his age and never really suffered injurys

Bellamy has already played a season for us and scored 7 prem goals , he has always suffered from niggling injuries , his game relys on pace , he comes with a lot of baggage and has caused problems everywhere , and he will be on a massive contract . Lets hope this positive impact isnt on someones head with a golf club .

bellamy's goal return is far better than ngog's (who he is replacing in the squad).

He also started 35 league games last season, and 26 league games the season before in a rotational man city team. Not too concerned about his current injury problems.

We have a better squad getting bellamy and selling ngog, that's the main thing. He will get us more goals per minute than ngog, and also has the versitality of playing wide.

Gary Mac did his cruciate ligament in a knee when he was at his peak. He came back eventually and became a more cultured player. At the beginning of his career he was more of a box to box player.
