So we have resigned a player who didn't work out first time round - spent last season playing in the Championship and didn't exactly tear it up and struggled with niggling injuries . Early 30's on a big contract .

We get rid of Cole and bring in a direct replacement .

Don't understand the thinking behind it tbh

You say it didn't work out first time round? He was sold to essentially fund a move to buy Torres. He never wanted to leave.

For me it's a no brainer given he loves the club and still has something to offer, a bit like when Fowler came back second time round. He offers great pace and versatility to our attack.

Personally, I'm delighted with this signing. You only have to look at the last 20 odd minutes of the Bolton game when Suarez came off that the flow of our play slightly eroded due to tiredness and Downing having nobody to link with to keep up the pressure in the final third. Bellamy would be the perfect sub for Suarez in such situations to keep the tempo up towards the end of games to truly kill the opposition off.

3rd, more likely 4th choice striker - Craig Bellamy. That's a good fecking 4th option if you ask me.

So many LFC fans appear so fecking ungrateful, yesterday we couldn't rub two penny's together. Today we're bringing a 4th choice international, premiership proven striker and there is simply no gratitude from certain fans.

Suarez knackered, Carroll injured and out..... last 15 minutes with the score at 0 - 0. Who would you rather have come in? N'Gog or Bellamy? My pick is going to be Bellamy. He's going to give that much needed energy that somehow rubs off everyone and gives the team a boost. Hot-headed? Yes. But I would rather look at it as passionate for the game. These are the kinds of people we need in the dressing room or on the pitch when things aren't going so good. People somehow always mention that tiff he had with Riise. But many fail to mention that they patched it up immediately, and after that, he provided that pass to Riise to score that all-important second goal at Barcelona no less....

Someone posted that interview with John Henry the other day and the question was put to him directly whether the wage bill had significant bearing on our transfers.  He flat out said no.  So, if the owner's not too concerned about the wages then I'm not either.  I don't care what kind of wages he's on so long as he comes in and does a job for us.  Kenny and Damien think he will and I'm happy to agree with them.

and as for this myth that he was average in the championship last season, he scored 11 goals from the wing in a side that struggled badly in the second half of the season and only just scraped into the playoffs. he'll flourish surrounded by better players. two years ago he was arguably the best player in the premiership that season.

Bellamy still offers us something as an impact player/sub and is very good cover for Suarez.

Bellamy is alright as a stop gap I guess... But we soon need a striker who can match the talents of Suarez and partner him.. Someone better than Carroll and Kuyt...

Dunno why you say that. Suarez is in a league of his own. One of those exceptional talents. Heck, if we get someone as good as Suarez, great! Not going to happen though!

Craig Bellamy claims playing for the manager he grew up idolising was an offer he couldn't refuse.

The Welshman was the subject of interest from clubs around the country on transfer deadline day but no one could compete once the chance arose to help Kenny Dalglish roll back the years at Anfield.

Bellamy now begins his second stint playing with a Liver bird on his chest having scored nine goals in 42 appearances under Rafael Benitez.

And he does so with a real belief that major honours are within Liverpool's grasp following a period of rebuilding overseen by Dalglish, Director of Football Damien Comolli and owners Fenway Sports Group.

He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I've grown up with Kenny Dalglish, now to be signed by him is a massive honour.

"This is an exciting time. When Kenny took over, watching as a fan last season I got the buzz as well and it was great to see Liverpool end the season well.

"For me, the players they've signed this summer, there has been a lot of British which takes me back to when I started watching Liverpool. It looks so familiar to me and to be part of it is such a huge honour.

"To every Liverpool fan, Kenny is probably the best player ever to pull on the red shirt so that speaks for itself. He was the first player-manager to do the double and just how he conducted himself really.

"I know we've had bits of success since then but the club hasn't been the same since he left, so to come back in and be a part of this with the players who are here - it's a good time.

"The Liverpool team when I first signed is a lot different to the Liverpool side of the last couple of years so we need to get back into the Champions League and look to push the club on from there again."

With Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll all vying for places, Bellamy knows getting his name on Dalglish's teamsheet every week won't be easy - but he thinks the opportunity is there to show Liverpool fans his best form.

"I get this opportunity again for Liverpool fans to hopefully see a real good side of me on a playing level," the 32-year-old added. "I know what I have to do to play in this team, so this should be a good time.

"I can play on either wing as well, like I did at Manchester City.
