Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

was happy when we signed him from blackburn, i mean he scored impossible goals during his time there.
so it puzzled me why rafa sold him away a season after.

Bello played like Tevez, during his early days in mancity, they played well together in a 433 formation.
good signing for us.

I wonder what we're paying him considering he was on 90 at Citeh? No more than 40 surely seeing he's 32.

Glad to see him back. Can play on the left, right or as a striker and gives us more options overall.

Not sure why we didn't give him number 10 though.

I'm not overwhelmed, but an experienced striker (who can play on the flanks) on a free, is a decent move.

He'll score more than N'gog would've, just as long as he has learnt how to stay onside.

Ditto but it's a win or a no lose for us. He either be a bargain success story or a fairly cheap failure
As long as he stays on green and doesnt tee off in the rough it's all good

I was happy with this signing.  I feel it's quite low risk as he's played for quite a few premier league clubs already.  He's a fast mother fecker and like a couple of you have said, bring him on with 15-20 minutes left and he will cause problems.

A few ex players also said he would be a good signing, Lawro and Aldo for example did.

I have never been a fan of Bellamy. He only scored 9 goals in 42 league appearances for us last time round and that was in his younger years. Personally, I think it is silly for Kenny and Commoli to re-sign him back. Gary Speed would of course strongly back him to re-join Liverpool because it would benefit his Welsh squad. If he were Lvp manager, would he take him?

So we have resigned a player who didn't work out first time round - spent last season playing in the Championship and didn't exactly tear it up and struggled with niggling injuries . Early 30's on a big contract .

We get rid of Cole and bring in a direct replacement .

Don't understand the thinking behind it tbh

Share the reservations expressed by some about Bellamy's return BUT the fella will offer a lot more fire and fight than some of those we've let go.

Considering there's no transfer fee involved (?)  it could prove to be a decent bit of business (provided of course he doesn't go golfing with any team mates  :D ).

He's not a replacement for Cole. Sold N'gog for £4m so needed a back up striker. We only had 3 strikers: Suarez, Carroll and Kuyt.

Bellamy was on a free and took a 50% pay cut (according to the ever reliable Mirror)

He may be 30 but knows where the goal is and can come on a nick a goal when you need one. Hot headed yes, but that passion is also his strength and will give 100% for the club.

Well the Guardian are reporting that we were given him terms comparable to his City contract ?

My Joe Cole mention was more in terms of the contract and his situation .

At least we have only given him a 2 year contract .

And he has never been a prolific goalscorer .

he aint the best, but at 4th choice, I dont think the situation's that bad. His record is fairly steady at 1 goal in 3 starts, so its not too bad. (It aint great, but this is our 4th choice striker replacing Ngog in the squad)

Guess we dont know about the wages, but I have faith in Kenny, Damien and the owners that they know what they're doing with the finances.

Personally, I think he's a better option than N'gog, so I'm relatively happy.
