Whoever the manager is , whatever the playing staff is ....one thing is for sure .....Liverpool will always be seens as one of the worlds great footballing teams, players will still want to come to us..........every poster has different opinions  but putting aside all the grudges on this site all you have to do is look at the amount of posts made every day to realize that we really are the best supporters on the planet,  there will always be players like mascherano who look to jump ship but for every mascherano there is a torres who is prepared to fight YNWA

The longer this goes on, the more damage is done and the more tainted our club is.

Most people on here accept that the favourite to take over will be Roy. For me is a very experienced manager, has integrity and honesty, and is a football man through and through. He did wonders with the Swiss national team and has really done very well with Fulham in recent years, this accomplishment cannot be ignored and I am sure he believes he has earned another shot at a big club. If he were to be appointed personally I would not be overly dissapointed, and think that if the squad is "asset stripped" as the rumours say he would do well, in at least I think he will allow us to stand still and not start to sink into mid table.

As for the other names being bandied around, Sven for me is a no no. He is too dull, and tactically too defensive to really catch my enthusiasm. O'neil I have already posted earlier would be a good man for us, but I think his temperment will lead to early clashes with the board.

Dalglish. He is god to us. A legend in every sense of the word. But i think he has been out of football too long. There is no doubt he will immediately command the respect of Stevie and Carra et al as they are nearly as part of the furniture as he is but at the same time some of the continental players may well be less impressed.

I have mentioned Keegan before as a potential manager. He has had mixed success at club level, but he would guarentee brilliant man management and attrative football. I dont know if he would want the pressure.. after all he never need work again and he is like Dalglish a legend.

Sammy Lee is a LFC man right down to his boots. He is not a manager, but he is the best right hand man in the business. He must stay.

We are all crying out for an appointment that will capture our imagination and get us excited for the years ahead, which will be hard. We all know that the top continental managers are unlikely to want the job, and for me that is not a bad thing. I want someone at the club who respects our tradition, knows we are the best club in the world and wants nothing more than to see the club move forward.

My vote, for what it is worth goes to Dalglish as a kind of director of football. He must be involved with the club in some capacity and I see him as the perfect guiding hand for us. On the pitch we need someone who we know can inspire the players, no matter where they come from and what language they speak. For me there is an ideal man for this. Keegan. Keegan and Lee as his assistant. Will this happen? I doubt it.

Whatever happens, and whoever gets the job I will still love this club. I would swap any world cup to get rid of the yanks and bring the title home again. The fact remains however that the managers job at LFC is a poisoned chalice and whoever comes in will need 100 % backing and positivity from the fans from day one. There are difficult times ahead, maybe some of the worst in our history, but LFC is a community and and the role of us, the fans will be more important than ever.

YNWA!

Nan, maybe he just looked at the list and knew they wouldnt come because of the ownership situation and lack of transfer funds. Sounds more realistic to me, managers are used to being lauded as heros, not told to be discrete, given no money and probably be sacked in 12 months anyway.

Lets face it. It looks like we'll be waiting till after the World Cup, by which time the transfer window will be practically over if the Yanks give us any money to spend (I'm not holding my breath).

St Mick:  At what stage (if any), if we haven't found new owners, had loans extended or a capital injection etc.. will Broughton pull the trigger and sell Torres and/or Gerrard etc..?

I imagine the club cant wait until the last day as Chelsea or Citeh will need time to line up another player if they´re not going to get Torres.

So if debt is really such a big issue then there has to be a cut off date maybe one week before the end of the window by which Broughton will either have found money or sell players.

Sorry to be negative but just making the point the window could work both for and against us.

Here is a rumour to make some smile

The new owners are supposedly massive fans of Rafa and want to bring him back straight away . Rafa has also stated he is not selling his house in Liverpool as it's his home and he will be back to live in it :D

God No!!!

The rumour I read is that he may be back in the North West but only to manage Man City!
Our job is simple, to support the club, not just parts of the club that are easy to support, but every one who plays a part, that includes ALL players.  We are stronger when we are all walking in the same direction. Walk On

England will most probably win tomorrow Capello will stay unti 2012 and this talk about Hodgson waiting to see if England want him won't come to fruition. After all if England don't win tomorrow the FA are hardly going to be hot on the heels to fire Capello they'll be begging him to stay. If Capello quits this week or when England return back it'll be weeks before a successor is named. If Hodgson does want to keep his options open in that scenario Liverpool will have to rethink things which will probably still mean Kenny will leave. I think England will win and Hodgson will be LFC manager by the time pre-season training starts.

Although if Italy and England get knocked out in the group stages maybe it's a good time to go for Lippi or Capello?

Lippi might be ok but Capello? The kiss of death. Who seriously believes he'll play pass and move football that is any better than that practised by Benitez, given the tripe England have come up with in this world cup?
