All things Rafa (merged threads) - stick yer Rafa sh'it in here

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Raffmaker » Sun Feb 22, 2009 7:33 pm

I would honestly like to know from all of the posters on here.

Depsite being die hard LFC fans, including me!, but who of you now feel that maybe a change of manager may be the answer to our current Woes!?

I am not here to criticise but depsite that after 5 seasons, we are not close to winning the league, but for my reasons given, maybe Rafa should step aside?

My reasons:

1. He has only bought Alonso and Torres, the only players of any quality in FIVE SEASONS!
2. He changes it too much, plays players out of position, changes formations and plays so negatively even at home??
3. He buys players and does not play them oftem (ie: sissoko, Babel, Bellamy, crouch, Fowler etc)
4. he plays defensive formations every match 4-5-1, and is not brave enough!
5. he sometimes comes out with Houllier type comments.
6. He has had the money to spend. £200m plus.

please feel free to make your comments now as to whether you feel he is still the right man for the job and your reasons please.

I am not slating the man, but with the Manc's looking like equaliing our 18 league titles record witout any fight from LFC, something has to be done.

All thoughts and discussion please. I would just like to know all of your honest opinions.........

What do you mean "NOW" feel Rafa's time is up, I've been of that opinion for quite some time.  :wwww

I have dithered for a long while over Rafa's future at Liverpool, I now think the time has come for him to go.

Maybe :D

There has already been far too many threads like this one, started by people who's ego was so big they thought that their opinion deserved it's own thread. We don't need another one, you could just as easily have bumped the one I started about a month ago  In it I made my feelings clear.

It is a tough call I agree - but come the end of the season he will have had 5 seasons and over £200 in transfers.
Like most reds I feel really frustrated as
1) I don't believe will we ever have a better chance of winning it - the Mancs are playing well now , but had we not drawn so many home games against teams we would expect to win - then we would be still be on top.
2 ) the Mancs will equal our record of total League titles
3 ) the negative tactics - trying to sit on a 1 nil lead  , settling for a point at home against Hull
4 ) the predictability of our substitutions ( in terms of when )
5 ) the team selections
Rafa has given us some great memories - but is it time for time to go?
Probably yes..

Assuming Rafa were to go in the summer - bear in mind the following ?
Who replaces him ?
How much money in the kitty ?
Will there be an exodus of players following him ?
Do you trust these American clowns ?

I think it is the wrong time for this kind of thread. We should wait until after the Madrid game or even the Utd game as im sure if we get a good result there everyone will be back on his dick.

I know what you mean - and I would not be surprised if we get a good result over in Madrid - but that has been a consistent theme during the Benitez era - overachieving in Europe but falling short at in the domestic league.
