might be giving them a heads up on who the new manager is?

I've been told last night that it is all STILL cloak and dagger but the players have been told that the future is sorted.

No one has been named as manager or owner and it's all still top secret with nothing being discussed within Anfield, no one trusts anyone there !

oh great just what we need, lack of trust in the club.

the owners have no power at the club so i take it that the board are doing all the talking and deal making.

I would say that what he did at Fulham was only 'outstanding' in some people's OPINION. Fulham have been in the Premiership for best part of a decade, the word 'outstanding' is used far too much, in fact as much inappropriately as 'poor'

my mate said that Hodgson knew more than what he was saying when he was on TV, there was a lot of talking to oneside after the game with AH.

he might say that he has not spoken to the club but i feel he has meet them in SA.

Kenny was a legend from 85-91 but I mean he's been out of the loop in the PL since 98 supposing he takes over and doesn't turn it round. I can't imagine the fans would want to turn on him surely it would be better to have him cemented for his past successes than future failings.

Please please though not Capello. The man is a walking disaster area given what has happened to England in this world cup. It would be as stupid as Wolves hiring Graham Taylor after he left the England job.

lol talk about jump the gun.....Capello could still go on to win the world cup....what would you say then?

I'd say he was a very lucky manager whose team had won the world cup despite him and not because of him.

I still wouldn't want him for the Liverpool job. His tactics are slow and defensive.

Do you really think Liverpool would pick up the tempo and play pass and move football, that they could never do consistently under Rafa, if Capello became LFC boss, given the tripe England have shown in the world cup?

come in the top 4
more points than last year.

I would think finishing fourth would automatically mean more points, in fact I'd think nobody would give a sh it if we picked up LESS points and finished fourth, not that it is likely to happen.

The incoming manager should not be required to achieve anything in the cups, he should be focused solely on the league and getting us (back) into the top four. Anything above and beyond fourth would be a bonus, it should not be a target. I think cup success has distracted managers and distorted views on each one's respective "success" overall. Each one should be coming in with a 3-4 year target of winning the league, not leaving six years later with a fond farewell having won a big trophy but failed to meet the target.

LAST WON

LEAGUE : 89/90 (20 years ago)
UEFA Cup : 2001 (9 years ago)
League Cup : 2003 (7 years ago)
Champions League : 2005 (5 years ago)
FA Cup : 2006 (4 years ago)

Bear in mind the League Cup is nothing special and we reached the final just five years ago, and that we have played in the UEFA Cup once in the last six seasons making it pretty hard to win it when you're not in it. It is that big number at the top that needs reducing to zero

Lakes M8 - From what I'm hearing, Laurel & Hardy haven't had a say in the future for a while. It's all being sorted away from Anfield and outside of Merseyside. At least they're taking it seriously !!!

see i dont hear that, what i hear is that G&H dont care about the club as they have other problems to deal with right now, they handed the power of the club over whewn they put it up for sale and left it to the board and chair to sort the mess out.
I f this has changed in the last week then so be it but this was how it stood on the 10th june.

Lad on rawk posted it yesterday John , said we've been sold for £585 million and it's the brother of the Man city owner . Said it's with the FA/PL at the minute to decide wether there is a conflict of interest there . He said his source was a member of the old board and trusts him . He's a respected poster and it's deffo out of character for him to post Bullsh!t (28,000 odd posts) . You know what it's like though mate , too many false dawns , so we're all rightly sceptical at the minute . See what happens innit lash .

£585 million? sound about the right price, IT seem that if RBS had set the price it would be a bit less than that.
around 450mil.

if we are sold i wonder if they can pay off the loan?

not sure what you mean Lakes, surely the sale price includes the loan being paid off.

I would presume that (my opinon) they value the club at £350 million and the other £235 MILLION is to pay of the debt . Which means that H+G make a cool £175millon each . Great innit .

whe the first buyer was found by ML the price was set at 500mil, this did not include the loan.(might also be why the deal did not happen)

i hope you are right but knowing the way G&H deal i am not sure.
