Well at least he does a job in recovery and his strength is useful. I agree what he's providing is not good enough at the moment but, do you honestly think that what Voronin provides is a lot better?

I agree with your post Sabre apart from.....
not good enough at the moment

Do you honestly believe he will offer more in the future? I think what we are seeing with Kuyt is all that he has. Likeable character who works his a$$ off every game. I also suspect that he thinks he is doing much better than most of us do.

Neither Voronin or Kuyt are good enough, thank God we have Torres.

Going to be a hard game, again a lot of our player would have been off work this time of year so its a bit of a shock for them.

If they stay off the drink we could get a good win here, every game for us is a must win right now so a 0-0 will not do.
Now strange team sheets or formations for this one Rafa.

Keep down to good passing football and we will win.

An important game which could go either way, hopefull our class in torres, gerrard and co will shine through, id go with

                         Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Arbeloa  Riise

       Alonso,    Masch,
Gerrard,                  Kewell

               Torres.

2-1, Kewell and Torres

You're right, the inclusion of Voronin/Kuyt can literally mean we're one man down from the get go.

I think a lot of people are being harsh on Kuyt, he has scored more goals than a lot of people want to believe and is still at least as good (or bad) as Crouch who seems incapable of doing any wrong in some members' eyes

Anyway I hope Agger is back and we can get scoring goals, something that is still a problem with only Torres and Gerrard posing consistent threats. We've had this for some time now, score a lot of goals in one or two games and struggle to score a goal a game for six or seven

Liverpool at Man City

14/04/07 Man City 0-0 Liverpool
26/11/05 Man City 0-1 Liverpool
09/04/05 Man City 1-0 Liverpool
28/12/03 Man City 2-2 Liverpool
28/09/03 Man City 0-3 Liverpool
31/01/01 Man City 1-1 Liverpool

So in the 2000s half our visits have ended in draws, last time we played them in December we drew. I don't think they will be that much harder to beat, their defence has looked nothing special this season of the games I've seen and I think it is a weakness that too few sides have explored.

If Agger is available I'd bring him into the side that played the mancs and probably play Arbeloa at LB and Finnan at RB. ie field probably our strongest XI

                     Reina

Finnan   Carragher  Agger   Arbeloa

Benayoun Gerrard Mascherano Kewell

                Kuyt   Torres

sorry i left a player off my team, it should read;

                 Reina

Finnan  Carragher  Arbeloa  Riise

      Alonso,    Masch,
Gerrard,                  Bennayoun
                       Kewell
              Torres.

ild have to go with owzat's team

Reina

Finnan   Carragher  Agger(if fit)  Arbeloa

Benayoun Gerrard Mascherano Kewell

               Kuyt   Torres

But I wouldnt mind playing 4-3-3

Reina

Finnan   Carragher  Agger(if fit)  Arbeloa
             Mascherano
         Gerrard       Alonso
Benayoun                     Kewell
                  Torres

4-3-3 should bring out the best of our midfeild, but I think Torres prefers a striker partner (i would like babel up front, but it wont happen)

I predict a win, 2-0... or 1-0 win. Got a feeling we wont let a goal in, as long as were playing mascha that is.

Bad team, Kewell and Benny to far back and Babel is to loose to have up front.IMO anyway.

Thats very harsh mate , kuyt at least helps with the defending and stuff , but its his ability to poach goals now that has let him down , i have been very patient with kuyt and if he does not get 10 goals in the league by the end of it , i say sell him for whatever we can get
