It's almost a shame the bitters didn't turn up for the derby, they're just one of the few small clubs we've done the league double over this season :-

Bolton
Derby
Sunderland
Newcastle
everton

Fulham? (the only game left where we can complete a double)


I think Carsley was a little lucky to stay on the pitch, he did plenty that was bookable throughout the game and only got one yellow. We should have wrapped the points up by half time, perhaps our finishing reflecting our season. The bitters were pretty awful, their lack of threat up front making it all too easy to keep a clean sheet. I wasn't even sure they were looking for the win, I know they have a slightly easier run in than us, but they're behind by five and on GD so they'll need to do better than they have been recently.

Perhaps the best stat to sum up our season and the game is that was only our FOURTH 1-0 win of the campaign. That we've scored one goal 13 times this season and won only four also sums us up nicely, not enough goals and not enough clean sheets. Without a good defence you don't win many by scoring one, if you score one goal every fourth game more or less then you won't win enough games either. We've conceded a single goal 17 times, that's approximately 1/3 of our games.

Just as well the better side won rather than the bitter side

Must say I do not see what all the fuss is concerning Lucas though, he has done nothing for me. I think its another case of rosey brigaded forum followers overating our players again and again. Throw Aurelio and Alonso in that too.

For me Babel has more potential than the young Brazillian, granted it wasnt his best game.  But atleast its good to see LFC have a half decent winger/striker with pace and ability.

Like Igor said how the f.uck we're scrapping for fourth with the bitters, beggers belief. As Ciggy would say they're a "shi.te house ale team"

Whopper of a hangover , Dont care if it was a Sh.itty game who played well and who didnt the goal could of gone in off Torres nose for all i care . At the end of the day we beat the bluesh.ite thats all im botherd about. Im made up

poor performance in the second half and was quite boring to watch... I just hope rafa works on the most obvious weakness in our game before the arsenal matches... defending set pieces and reina's inability to catch anything from crosses...

Yeah.......2nd half was a real bore.

Anyway we won......but hate to say it...but we don't have the players to excel in this 4-3-2-1 formation.

1)The bad -

Kuyt and Babel are an embarrassment on the wings. Babel might do a good job on the right  but on the left, the opposition players have found the way to neutralize him (ie...he always tries to bring the ball to his right foot).

As for Kuyt......no comments needed.

Alonso....if barcelona really wants to pay 15 million for him....i say just sell him. Lucas did exactly what alonso did.... and if alonso continues this way...it would be better to sell him.

2)The good  -

Riise has shown that he is our best left back....period. With him on the team, we defend way lot better on the set pieces (although we still look vulnerable in it). I don't care what others say, but riise is a better defender than auerlio. And thats more essential to a left back.

Gerrard - No comments needed...He is great as ever.

Skertel - Has proved that he is indeed a good purchase. He only had 2 bad games since he came here (his 1st match and against manure). Judge him next season...He will be a colossus like vidic for us.

Lucas - Neat player. But he doesn't look like a world beater i thought he would be (with all the hype about him winning player of the year in brazil)

Torres - No comments needed. 1 chance 1 goal.... Can't imagine what will we do if he is injured...

The ugly -
PHILIP NEVILLE.....................     .........  Loved it when he grabbed the windbreaker when he was subbed.....

Oh did you watch this game ,or were you with your judy ,doing the the dirty deed again . Your opinion means nothing ." Oh i'm not watching us against the mancs  this weekend ,cos me judy won't let me. "

Yeah a good result, but some worrying performances bearing in mind the next match is a big one.

babel- he is cr*p at crossing and does not look up.

Kuyt- is rubbish at hitting the target (as per hi first half chance, he should have hit target at least)

Lucas- Poor game today. he was bad.

firstly its not a matter of when i joined , as long asi have a valid point , keep ur one line wrestler's quotes to yourself.
Secondly , yes you may have said that but even when babel had a good game , you said he sucked , read some of your post earliar this season in the match threads and the same for kuyt , when he was playing well yesterday you could have given credit where it was due like u said when babel had a good game and you gave him credit for that , u could have done that for kuyt , but you did not . Well as for me being a wum , well i think you're the one with qoutes like this , oh i'm not gonna watch this match cos my girlfren promised me a bj or smth like that , or ever since rafa took over i don't look foward to manure games .
