LIVERPOOL VS EVERTON - Merseyside derby

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Yes , for some of us its the biggest game of the season . we need to bounce back after the dissapointing loss to the mancs and we will be WITHOUT masch for this game , which makes it all the more difficult. All season i have been saying this that arbeloa is sh!te and the manc game is the final nail in the coffin . I'd go for a similar squad with few changes.

Reina

Finnan            Carra             Skrtel                Riise

Pennant         Gerrard          Lucas                 Babel

                   Torres            Crouch

I'm prepared to shift back to the 4-4-2 game as i feel torres will be isolated . I think the big man deserves a chance although i havna't been his biggiest fan this season . I'd go for a 3-0 win , torres with 2 and a long awaited riise goal

We need to create some daylight between us and them and this is the perfect chance especially as we play Arsenal the following week.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

This could decide fourth, they are likely to slip up (in the remaining games) but we're not exactly putting distance between us. And we need a lift going into the nightmare triple header against the goners, even if we win through in the CL then we'll have more fixtures which won't help our cause in the league

Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

must win game now IMO.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Not this again ....

And anyway we werent playing that bad before Mascherano got sent off , yes they scored but it was off the back of wes brown.
Not many can hold on with 10 men at old trafford so wen we counter attack we slipped up but we did not play too badly.

i dont think its a must win, it is for everton, a draw see`s us 3 points ahead and a better goal difference.

saying that i think we`ll win and that should see them off, more interestly will be the mindset of benitez and wenger going into the CL games, ill leave discussing that till after the derby

edit, ill not delete my mistake but put it down to a bad refereeing decision  :D

it's a must win game as i've already said. If they beat us, our following game is Arsenal away, there's is........................Derby at home.

So we could easily be four points behind with five games to play. That's not an easy recovery.

Hi Nanny,

Your son a Bluenose ? Is he adopted ?  :D

Its a given that I want us to win but my head says a 0-0 brutal draw with Everton adopting their usual strong arm tactics and kicking lumps out of anything in a Red shirt  ???

Where has Finnan been? Has he been injured?

This is how I would send out the team.

                            Reina

Finnan       Carragher     Skrtel         Aurelio

               Alonso            Lucas

Kuyt                  Gerrard                  Babel
                        Torres
You'll never walk alone.

I am thinking that we leave Kuyt out of the squad and put in Pennant.

agreed with you.... kuyt is not doing a good job at the moment...

maybe babel too cos he had not been performing well in the last 2 matches...

He was all over manure in the first half but when we went a man down there was nothing anyone could do , he beat wes brown , rio and even roandlo with his pace and skill , no support though . Babel has been improving with every game and rafa shud stop subbing him. About kuyt , he was also good yesterday , tracked back , defended well , did not allow evra much joy neither did giggs , covered arbeloa many times .

can accept your point
but i would say liverpool need more of an offensive player to help gerrard and torres...
kuyt was playing as winger while he is not a winger.. maybe pennant or benayoun will be better choice
torres can't do the job all alone upfront...

still, whoeveer play.. liverpool will beat everton.. no worry :)
