ASTON VILLA VS LIVERPOOL - 31-08-08

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby GOAT_2.0 » Fri Aug 29, 2008 10:01 am

Thats what I'm worried about, Villa are a good team and they are really going to want to batter us this time round, away from home as well

We really need to improve or we will get f.ucked over, very happy to have masch back, I agree we will be a different team with him in there

Get our heads sorted or we're going to be in trouble

Nevertheless I'll go for 2-1 to us

i'm afraid we are gonna lose this game - at this stage we can say the boys and more then that the coach are clueless as how to operate the team - after Wednsday hugh effort this Sunday's match is just waiting for us being beat.

Kean and Torres look hopeless up front with no balls coming their way ,our defenders are just not premiership level material ,no wingers and no creativity in middfield - Benitz is playing a chess game over-tactics on the expense of simple fast football.

I have no idea what he has been doing this summer.

Villa will play with extra motivation over the barry affair -looks bad for us.

If nothing else the midfield battle between Barry and Alonso may prove interesting, hopefully Alonso will be out to prove the point that he is much better than Barry, and with Gerrard missing we will need a BIG performance from him.

The monster will have his hands full , i think rafa might ask him to mark out ashley young , he's their main creater , alonso will have to handle barry that is .

Nervous because villa away with the performances weve put in lately we will lose. its clear we must up our game sunday to get all 3 points. I too would take a draw away to villa but we need alonso to play how everyone knows he can.

The only surprise with Lawro is that he's got away with talking so much cack for so many years and is still on TV!

Yeah, you don't see that very often on his little predictions thingy though, usually says we'll win on that at least

I agree with stu, Keane needs to relax and settle down, so I think I won't play him against Villa

I would go for

                           Reina
Dossena     Skrtel            Carragher      Finnan

Riera*        Alonso           Masch          El Zhar

                 Torres          Kuyt

*If we do sign Rieira tommorow, he should be able to start on sunday

Your wide players are on the wrong sides, surely a mistake yes?
Drop Keane for Kuyt eh, brave man. :D

a big mistake yes, it was 3 in the morning when I posted the lineup (my time)  :D

Villa concede a lot of goals. Last season they scored about 70 goals but concede over 50 - sh!te.

Villa 1 - 3 Liverpool (Torres, Alonso, Keane)

got a feeling hyypia might play in this one to counter villa's aerial threat. last season i think they scored more goals from set pieces than any other side.
