We could have got 6~7 penalties today...brilliant play overall we stretched them and with some more clinical finish we could be 7-0 or 8-0 up that's how good we are. One game at a time lads...it all adds up :)

Great win, but I was never in any doubt to be honest. United are a Sh*t team.

My only worry is the amount of penalties that we were (rightfully mind you) given. It may affect ref's decisions in future games in this season.

Great result.

Can't say it was the best performance I've seen from us this season, but it was enough and that's all that matters.   :buttrock

Hate that Danny clearly took a dive for that 3rd pen… I mean technically it levels out as Gerrard missed the pen, and we should have had another pen 2 minutes later. Rafael also should have seen red in the first, so the fact that it was postponed until now, united really can't complain. But I hate to see us win pens like that.. Like others have said, good luck getting pens, not just against them in the future but against anybody for the rest of the season.

Overall a pretty solid game. Could have been better, but I was worried the united boys would be more up to it. Luckily they weren't. Gerrard was my MOTM, not for his pens but just being him during these big games, he was massive for us. Huge 3 points, we completely control our own destiny now, and if we win the game at hand to sunderland and beat chelsea, we're ahead of them. Love the clean sheet at OT as well, it just feels great. Flanno was great, but I was worried he would see red at the end. Horrible decision by Moyes to take Januzaj off as the only chance they had of getting back in the game was attacking through him and trying to get Flanno off.

Great weekend so far! Let's hope for any result other than an arsenal win to top it off!

Sturridge dive kinda took the gloss off an otherwise majestic performance by us for me. Not used to gaining advantage like that. But anyway the challenge by carrick should have been a penalty...

What a brilliant match, we were far the better team, it's surreal seeing that sort of performance at OT, takes me back to the glorious 4-1 in 2009. I have to say I thought Hendo was immense, he has matured in a brilliant central midfielder. Flanno also his energy and commitment this season, it's like having a new top quality signing. Gerrard of course, Sturridge maintaining possession, Mignolet's shot-stopping - brilliant, brilliant game. Dare to believe anyone??
