Arsenal have royally fecked up their title challenge and, with it, their chance of realistically winning anything this year. They will be up for wednesday's match, but so will we.

If we can get at them from the off, then we will win.

2-0 to us.  :)

I honestly expect Liverpool to hit Arsenal on the counter attack and win this by 2 clear goals ,Arsenal are not playing with any cohesion and their lack of team spirit or indeed fight is akin to the Reds earlier this Season ,two absolutely demoralizing defeats will have left Arsenal shell-shocked ,and there can be no better time to engage them in a tactical battle which I am pretty sure Benitez will win ,plus if the Midfield diffuse Fabregas as efficiently as they snuffed out the threat of Pienaar and the Afro Samurai then we will have no problems ....

I think we need to show the watching world Liverpool are back on track ,and provide proof positive that the inconsistency we have wallowed in this Season is now finally well and truly  behind us ....... The fans expect a win from this one ,nothing less than 100%  commitment from every player will suffice ....C'mon you Reds :D

Last time we played them at the Emirates Aquilani made his debut. Now it's time for him to really show them what he is made off.

Gonna be a tough game as always. We last won there in 2000 so i'll be delighted if we can get out of dodge with a draw! Best chance is to keep a clean sheet and nick something on the counter or from a set-piece. They are struggling at the moment but they will be looking to take the recent losses to the mancs and Chelsea out on us. Just get tight to that little bugger Arshavin like Chelsea on the weekend and make it count when a chance comes along.

I doubt he will play mate. Lucas and Masch in the middle, Rafa can't resist them two  :(

this game has draw written all over, two teams who dont have many goals in them at the moment, im predicting 1-1, but wouldnt be suprised with a 2-1 for either side, hopefully us obviously :D but it will be tough our away form is awful, especially at arsenal and i cant see them getting beat 3 in a row vs the big boys without putting up a huge fight.

I hope he plays some part. That will make 2 games on the trot that he hasn't featured in and to be honest the derby and away to Arsenal are both big games. If you can't play in either of those then what hope does he have? Unless of course he has a niggle Rafa is trying to get ironed out that's different then.

I reckon Arsenal are firm favourites for this to be honest.  They have something to prove after losing again to Chelsea while our players might be suffering from a post-derby hangover.  Add to that our dismal record at the Emirates (although we should have beaten them there last season) and our ongoing injury problems and it doesn't look great.

That said, Arsenal too are suffering with injuries.  They are playing Arshavin as a lone striker which is clearly not his game and look as dodgy in defence as ever.  The trouble will be getting the ball off them as they usually dominate possession at home even against the good sides.

Our best chance is to make the game ugly and turn it into a scrap.  I'd favour playing Masch and Lucas together in this even though I generally think they're a bad combination.  Not sure if Kyrgiakos' suspension kicks in yet, but I wouldn't play him in this anyway.  His stregth is in the air and Arsenal play everything on the deck, and his weakness is mobility with Arsenal having a lot of nippy players that could embarrass him.

I'd take a draw now in this one.

Agreed. Lucas and mascha would be perfect to make a scrap of it. Problem is though, if we go a goal down we then don't have the personel in Lucas and Mascha to dictate the the comeback which would be needed. I wouldn't bank on us holding them at bay for 90mins in the hope we get a counter-attack or corner and pop up and score from it though. I think we'll have to show a little more ambition if we are going to play for three points.

I definately agree that we'll need to scrap this to have a chance, but I think Gerrard in place of Lucas would work better. And I have a feeling that although Aquilani hasn't started recently, Rafa may give him the go ahead from the start. I wouldn't play Aquilani in Lucas' position because 'scrapping' isn't his forte. Gerrard would be able to scrap and use possesion much better than Lucas and Aquilani, so then I think playing Aquilani in behind N'gog would be a good idea, like he did against Spurs.

Frankly we should play like weaker side play against us and put ten behind the ball with five in midfield ,we have the personnel for it) and pray we can score the first goal. I think aqua should play as this is a game which may suit him and we do not really need the big Greek as they do not really have anyone that can head the ball like Adebayor.

We win 2-0.

arshavin will no doubt turn into maradona against us again havibng generally finished like a pub player whenever i've seen him play against anybody else in the league.

i'd take a draw also. even though we've had a fair few clean sheets recently i'm not sure if we can cope with arsenal's movement if they hit anything near top gear. they can't keep being as wasteful in the final third as they we're against chelsea the other day surely.

Think we are going to have problem with our defense and especially on the right side if Carragher is playing there when Arsenal play the passing game. Hopefully, we can play a physical game against them instead of matching them on the passing game.

.                Reina

Masch     Carragher     Agger     Insua (Am sticking with him instead of Aurelio purely based on his current form)

Kuyt        Gerrard       Lucas      Riera

                    Aquilani

                      Ngog

A draw would be a good result.

I wouldn't blame benitez if he starts with Lucas and Mascherano midfield axis. If we can "bully" them in midfield....we can neutralize their whole team.
