7 CL goals last season.

Yeah I know but what im saying is without certain crucial ones of them where would we have been out of the C/L??
I cant remember them all,but i can remember he saved our bacon a couple of times!

Either way the sh'ite the fella gets on here needs to stop or at the very least be toned down.I could look over it if the rest of the players were playing like Pele on speed every game and Kuyt was stand out poor every time...thats not the case though! :D

2007 - 2008 CL

FC Porto FC Liverpool (Kuyt  crucial )
Liverpool Inter Milan (Kuyt crucial )
Arsenal Liverpool (Kuyt crucial )

kuyt is needed in the squad. hes a workhorse. he runs like anutter,. and scores some VERY important goals. Every team needs a player like this. You cant have 11 world class, you need some different class team playuers. Kuyt adds to the team.

And people WERE singling out Kuyt last night, which is getting tiresome. At the moment Rafa likes him, the squad likes him, and i like him.

As ive said, i think kuyt is better against better players, he works so hard that against class players with his running but against lesser teams he gets a bit lost playing out of position.

Some people will never like Kuyt, and some people will stick up for him. Lets just say this, he made us TEN MILLION POUNDS last night, that should give hima little bit of respect off you

Pot Calling Kettle you have abused Kuyt for about 2 years on here.

and at one point or another you have abused everyone on here, especially if they are not english.

ciggy lets just agree to disagree and let the thread run so people who actually want to talk about football rather than trying to score points of each other.

if you want to be moody and petty and call me names etc then send me a pm and we can battle away to our hearts content then

If Kuyt had confidence in his abilities as a striker, he'd have picked a fight with Rafa by now for playing him on the right.

nope, that's not his character. He only thinks in collectiveness, he is not a solist.

its fact. at that point we were 3 mins from penalties, whic we very well may have lost, thanks to him it did not come to that ergo it si down to him.
If Reina had let in a goal w may have tried a bit harder and scored 10 so we'll never know, what we do know beyond any doubt is that if Kuyt had not scored, it would have been penalties.

So lets give the guy a break I say

they all contributed towards a winning performance - both pepe and kuyt were the main reasons - pepe for his saves and kuyt for showing the determination to get behind the defender and pop up with the goal .

Peewee loves Kuyt,told ya!
TBH I find some of the abuse on here towards Kuyt repulsive and have had to bite my tongue on a few occasions! Some of it has been derogatory personal abuse towards him,not on.He's not Gary Fu*king Neville, hes a red!

The bottom line is he pulls on an LFC shirt and deserves our respect. He cannot play any better than his ability lets him but at least he gives 100%.
There are other players in our team at times who seem to just think that being on the pitch is enough and dont play anywhere near what they are capable of and repeatedly play under par.Still this goes unmentioned and Kuyt gets the flack as usual. Its pathetic to use him as a scapegoat because people cant be bothered to look at the real reasons the team does not function at times.
So far this season not one of our players IMO has had a good game in 4 competitive matches, yet you come on here after a game and its always Kuyts fault...just him,not Benayoun,Arbelo,Alonso,Gerrard or anone else..just Kuyt! :D

That goal last night was worth £12million to LFC,whether it came of his knee, shin or left testicle or tongue!
It would be interesting also to look back at last years C/L campaign and see how crucial his goals were and at what stage we would have been out without his contributions in scoring...i cant be @rsed though!

feckin well said mate...

we all know that dirk is more limited in his pure footballing abilities than we first thought and most are very disappointed that he hasn't proved to be the ace striker he at first seemed. i think this sometimes clouds the issue when he is discussed.

he's obviously not as sh!te as some people like to point out and, imho, brings a lot to the team when he plays - although not in the electric attacking sense as we would wish. benitez while stubborn is not a fool and will not continually play a player if he thinks there is a better option for the way he wants the team to play. a man who knows so much about football would not play an out and out donkey week in week out.

the best think we can say about him is his much mentioned work rate. he has never and will never give less than 100% in every game he plays. he is the only player (or maybe one of two along with carra) who will genuinely play for the shirt in every game - you will never see him just strolling around like mr perfect steven gerrard is prone to now and again. he will never vanish from the game and he will never give up. he seems to be getting a bit more confident around the box and is shooting more often which can only be good if he returns to a spot as one of our striking opitions.

we need better on the right without a shadow of a doubt but i'm bug'gered if i know the solution for now.

Was very very poor last night but once again as he seems to do in Europe, he popped up with the all important goal. Gerrard needs to moved to the right asap when he's fit again imo.
