he did do well at fulham despite the limited resources and the type of players he had. im sure with a better pool of players, he would be able to do better and perhaps who knows with an exciting style of play too.

to be honest i dont care who the next manager is, its the club i support. "the manager is part of the club", not "the club is part of the manager".

yep he did a decent enough job at fulham and stopped them being relegated - still won nothing during those years as a manager and thats despite being at a couple of massive clubs as well . Stopping fulham gettign relegated isnt the track record i would look at for a manager to take us to the next level - as for exciting fulham - do you mean lump it up to a big man up front ?

It has absoluty nothing to do with nationality nothing atall, when Houllier was sacked on the shortlist was Curbishly, Strachan, Benitez, MON & Mourhino.

Roy Hodgeson is the Curbishly on this short list.

When Moores & parry where looking for a replacement for Houllier they appionted a manger who would bring trophys and Rafa done that.

But this time round the board are not looking at who can bring trophys they want someone who wont moan about the owners and complain about transfer funds, or players being sold off so thats why Roy is their favourite he ticks all them boxes.

but its just an assumption that he will be that way. who knows he might surprise us and be more rebellious then he portrays himself to be?

apparently, we're broke hence the need for a manager who has experience with limited resources. and as for the style of play bit, you've misunderstood as i was referring to a better pool of players then what he has at fulham.

Imagine one of you guys where getting chatted up by say Pamela Anderson all night and ending up in bed with Susan Boyle. Appointing Hodgeson is something like this for example.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

I'd say more ignorant than insulting.

i think i've explained myself pretty clearly in my previous post. but since you've asked, i'll repeat myself with a bit more detail.

at fulham (a club that at best should be a top 10 maximum), he brought them to the uefa cup final with limited resources and players who aren't household names. he got them to play as an effective unit.

if he joins liverpool (a club that should be in the top 4 minimum), he will have better players at his disposal hence he should, by right, be able to make better use of what he has.

:D how can i disagree with you when you use such extreme comparisons?

ok, say Roy is our Susan Boyle that we end up with, who is the Pamela we've been chatting up all along? Kenny?

The same manager who spent 20 million at blackburn after the reached 6th in the prem then got relegated - the same manager who took over at Inter and took them out of europe . the same manager who has won 4 games away in two seasons - the same manager who lost more games in the second half of the season when he took over from sanchez . Maclaren got boro to a final and has won the league in holland should we look to him as well .

i'd do them both just to compare :D
