New Manager - Who would you have? (merged thread)

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Kenny is the right choice for some reasons.

1) He will unite the players and fans again.  (something we ALL need).
2) No Compensation required.
3) He is a winner and has a very good managerial record.  Im sure he can get us attacking and make the football fun again.
4) similar to point 1, he will probably convince Torres and Gerrard to stay.
5) He is better than Woy or anyone else linked with the job.

These are reasons why i believe Kenny would be good for the job.  If Woy gets it, it would be a disaster.  Gerrard and Torres would probably leave.  Along with Mascherano and Kuyt.
The fans would remain divided. The Owners would have their yes man.

I just hope Kenny Dalglish can be our manager again. No one manager now will truly give me hope other than our own legend (and a proven one too). He maybe out many years but I'm sure passion/experience/respect will at least bring Liverpool team back where it belongs. King Kenny gogogo

Imagine Gerrard and Torres deciding their futures and then they find out Kenny has the job these guys are going to be thinking I'm going to give it another season playing for Kenny.I can only see positives from this and the likes of Benayoun and now Reira will be resurrected and who knows he may even get the best out of Babel without the defensive thinking Rafa would of placed on him.

I think out of what is on offer it is a no brainer it has to be Kenny!!

IF, and it's a huge IF, Kenny gets the job, if he has any respect for the club, he'll offload those two donkeys Babel and Riera....
If Kenny's own attitude and application from years past is anything to go by, he should kick them out personally...

I'm no sure if it's the best time to offload ANYONE at this time especially when the two clowns up stairs are still around. Why not use them to help Liverpool instead, if they are indeed not offering anything then by all means sell them to save on the wages or hopefully get some money to buy new players?

Remember, Liverpool FC come first.

Just making a note in my dairy.... June 9th was a Kenny 'NO' day, June 10th is a Kenny 'YES' day. November 11th will be a Kenny 'OUT' day.....

Kenny is too great an ambassador to risk over 9 months of mediocre results. The fans frustrations over the owners would inevitably put pressure on Kenny and before long the calls for his head would start.

Better to get Woy in, let him be the butt of the fans frustration, fire him after year then bring in the next long term manager under new owners.

Job done, close the thread.

I think you give the fans too little credit.  I say this recognizing that you were not at all in favour of Rafa going and that you were highly frustrated with the so-called antis who lobbied for a change and have done for some time.  But, in fairness, Rafa had 6 years on the job and he was widely supported during the vast majority of the time--even now there's a lot of people that would still wish him to be manager.  So, I must say that I'm not convinced that a significant section of the support would turn on Kenny within 4 months of taking the job, even if we struggled (which I don't think we'll do to the degree that you may be implying).  I expect that Kenny will be given a lot of time to bed into the role and build the team his way if he takes the job.  IMO, this whole argument that we can't have Kenny manage because his reputation will be tarnished by fickle fans is a red herring.

Like I stated earlier "Unusually familiar " for a 1st post  ???  imagine how many bridges you will have burnt when your post  count is 10 (sanctimonious you couldn't make it up    )
and if I was you I would dispense with the Casanova bit because if you are as obvious to her as you are to us then you have no chance of perfecting a disguise

i really feel we will end up with woy and kenny at the helm.kenny will be either one of them directors of footy positions or as ast manager.they will appoint him to appease the fans but woy will be the main man.
again its down to twit and :censored: who comes in and if kenny at some point during the season was to speak out against them all hell would break loose and they wont put themselves in that position.
if reports are to believed then the board will formally approach fulham tomorrow regarding hodgson.
either way an appointment needs to be made soon as the transfer window starts end of june and we need to have a man in place by then to negoitiate who's going and to asses who he wants to bring in.
who ever the manager is should be given a max 2 yr contract depending on results.

I really don't want Roy.  Would love to get a campaign going to stop this mess from ever happening.

IF Kenny does and is appointed to the job I think that is enough to show he has respect for the club, personally. He obviously knows the situation with the owners is precarious at best and has put his hand up for the job imo as an offer of help rather than one of a good business proposal (which lines his pockets).

He knows the situation (he must be mad) but he is still willing to do what he thinks is best for LFC. He is already an iconic legendary man at this club and  nothing can ever tarnish that.
