What happened to the old saying, 'no person is bigger than LFC'? It appears Rafa was, it also appears many support Rafa rather than LFC.

While many mourn the loss of Rafael Benitez I will remain optimistic. (I don't think he'll achieve the success that Mourinho did at Inter, and I'll be keeping an eye on his progression over there as many Reds I've spoke won't here a word against the man and believe he is able to walk on water).

Roy Hodgeson is being touted as our next manager and those fans who are in morning of Rafa have already established an anti-Roy bandwagon. Like with any manager of LFC he deserves his chance which imo is what "supporting" a club means. I don't think his contract will be long term unless he produces a miracle. But I think he will be put in place to 'steady the ship' until a new owner comes in (which I believe will happen).

Roy's come under attack about the style of football (on here) his teams play which only exhibits the naivety of some posters. He isn't a route one merchant, he likes to get his sides to play football which is more than what can be said after watching Rafa's team last year. The football we witnessed last year couldn't get any worse than that, it was absolutely dire. If Roy comes in we'll see some better football at least. If in that time he does actually do well (heavens forbid) our new owners will either keep him on or bring in their new man.

totally agree.

If this concerned the manager and his abilities I would not  proffer a reply ,but it is in no sense  indicative that the manager is the cause of  our financial plight or for that matter the current predicament we currently find ourselves in ....

I will however endeavour to tell you who is to blame that we are now bereft of the one person who would have fought tooth and nail for the fans ............... It is no secret the current regime felt it essential that they rid the club of the only barrier towards them selling the clubs finest furniture to the highest bidder ,and that man was Rafa Benitez so if I choose to mourn his departure I fucking will because the football we played last year has been made slightly irrelevant given the owners total disinterest and the significant debt they have burdened us with

As for Woy of the wovers I personally think the job is to big for him and we certainly wouldn't benefit from a Yes man .... the owners might though     ??? and as for his style of play it leaves a lot to be desired and it was never really  that impressive whereas when Liverpool were good they were superb the season before last .....and it seen us play attacking football at its finest

So in summation I would like to conclude that I am getting heartily sick of the condescending nature of some posters who persistently inform us we should just get over his departure ...
I tell you what I will let you and others like you know when I am no longer seething over this ....... that Ok with you  ???

Ps for a first time  poster  it was unusually familiar ,in fact it was almost like you had posted numerous posts before .... my guess would be your another alter ego

1st post at this forum you reckon,

Besides its good being on the doom and gloom side, now I can belittle the rose coloured happy clappers because im more realstic, intelligent and will make more money then them.

:D

Seriously like you my heart would love to see Kenny come back in on white charger. My head says it would all end in tears before end of the season

This thread should either be named the Rafa Mourning thread or just be shut down.  The Rafa Era is OVER, :censored: OVER.  Done, Dusted, he's the manager of another club now.  Why isn't the Pro/Anti :censored: finished yet?  Rafa has seemed to have gotten up and dusted himself off nicely from the scuffle, why not follow suit and move on.

One question raised on the last page made my :censored: blood boil from the sheer closed mindedness of it.  "Why would you support a new manager but not support Rafa?"

OMG are you :censored: serious??  Why would someone support a new manager with a clean slate?  It's almost as if all the Rafapologists have all of a sudden thrown the values that they were banging on about for months out the window.

I won't celebrate Rafa going........ but I will be over the moon if Dalglish comes in. League within 2 years if he gets the job, AND YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT.

There were a few gems in that post but it dawned on me that any chance of sensible debate with you went out the window when I read the part in bold. " ???"

Never mind, I don't think too much will be lost from swerving your posts.

As for the last comment in your wallowing post, I've been called many things down the years, namely by the misses. But never an alter ego " ???" maybe I might give it a try when I get home and make out I'm Casanova.

On a separate note (not asking Mr beergoggles) why do you think either Carra or Gerrard haven't said nowt (I haven't heard, maybe wrong) about Rafa leaving " ???"

Capello is commited to England until 2012.

I actually think Rocky's one-liner makes some sense for once. There's no real need to appoint before world-cup so why not wait and see if someone of the quality of Capello becomes available. If England loose their first two matches its quite possible he'll be looking for a new job, and he's head and shoulders above Hodgson, MON, Laudrup or whoever else is in the running.

Failing that it makes a lot of sense to bring Kenny in at least in the shortterm until the owners are driven out of the club. If it doesn't work then we have more time to head-hunt a world class manager, if it does work we'll all be able to watch him transfigure to take his rightful seat beside god, Jesus and the HS.

Because the club is about to make our least aspirational and least ambitious managerial appointment for generations.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Kenny Dalglish 1/2/2011

1. They want to concentrate on the WC. Stevie admits that worrying about his future screwed him up four years ago and is too experienced to allow that to happen again.

OR

2. They are glad he's gone and are waiting to see who comes in before deciding if they want  to stay. Incidentally, do you think Stevie could leave if Kenny came in or would the romantic in him give us another year??

On these forums mate we are often guessing, some guess 1. some guess 2. depending which fits with their general beliefs. My feeling is 2. theres been so much talk about fall-outs and Rafa has a history of fighting with people so I think he did 'loose the dressing room', but we don't know that for sure do we?

Hopefully Kenny Daglish gets the job.I've got nothing against Roy Hodgson but he seems like a poor mans Benitez and I think he would be very uninspiring to the team, Kenny Daglish might not of been a manager for a while now but could you imagine the lift he would give the place if he was to take the job and bring in some of the old guard.

Imagine Gerrard and Torres deciding their futures and then they find out Kenny has the job these guys are going to be thinking I'm going to give it another season playing for Kenny.I can only see positives from this and the likes of Benayoun and now Reira will be resurrected and who knows he may even get the best out of Babel without the defensive thinking Rafa would of placed on him.

I think out of what is on offer it is a no brainer it has to be Kenny!!

From The Times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/article7147155.ece

...To decide on an easy option without chasing after more ambitious targets such as Guus Hiddink, or even speaking to Martin O’Neill, is dangerous short-termism at a time when Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are considering their futures.

It paints a sorry picture of Liverpool, a great club fast in danger of becoming a Premier League basket case, where the owners are divided, the club is in vast debt and even loyal players are disaffected.

On the terraces, Mark Hughes is dismissed not because he has negligible experience in Europe but because he is associated with Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United. Dalglish is considered credible by many simply because he is King Kenny.

At this rate Liverpool will become another Newcastle United — a club where emotions run high and logic flies out of the window.
THE BRENDAN REVOLUTION IS UPON US !

KING KENNY.. Always LEGEND !

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

Miss YOU Phil-Drummer - RIP YNWA
