Would'nt surprise me if that was the lineup.
With All the balls coming into our box we are going to have to need some good headers of the ball. Insua is small, johnson injured, so wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Considering the players available:

                    Reina

Degen    Skrtel    Agger    Insua

              Masch    Lucas

  Rodriguez   Aquilani   Aurelio

                    Ngog

Subs: Kuyt, Eccleston, Pacheco, Riera, Spearing, Carragher, Cavalieri

I think Rieras available again... Read it somewhere but cant remember where ... If he is i'd start him.. I know he hasnt played for a while but better start with your best side and then change it around later... Wouldnt want Insua on the pitch, wouldnt want Lucas in there either..

We have enough to beat them if Rafa puts out the strongest 11 and focuses on trying to win the game instead of preventing Stoke from doing so..
Their best player imo is Ethrington, his crosses are a real danger and both our fullbacks will need to up their game to stop crosses coming in, and to cover the far post when the crosses do come in...

Id go for :

Degen          Carragher          Agger           Aurelio

Maxi           Mascherano        Aquilani          Riera

                    Kuyt               Ngog

Cant understand why Babel isnt in the squad, i would have him upfront ahead of Ngog or as a sub at the very least... He's one of few who can come in and provide something different for the side... An impact player and a potential game winner if he's in the mood... Shame Rafa has dropped him from the squad for whatever reason...

There used to be a time when we had a bad loss that the next team we played feared a backlash. Looking at the squad available for this game I don't think Stoke will be fearing a backlash but being pretty bouyed by it.

The thing is, considering the crisis we're in, that's actually a very good midfield.

That side should be good enough, doubt Rafa would go for it though..

I expect something like this to show up:

Carragher          Skrtel          Agger           Insua

                     Lucas          Mascherano

                            Aquilani
Kuyt                                                     Aurelio

                              Ngog

No width, no drive, striker left isolated, midfield pairing not capable of controlling the game, wide players cutting inside with little purspose...

Hope im wrong, but Rafa doesnt seem to like to change things around regardless of the results or performances..

I think you've probably called it right there. I'll be very disappointed if Insua starts the game because he's had a torrid time of late (except for the Villa game). The idea of playing Agger at Left Back on the odd occasion is something I have been in favour of for a long time, particularly if you want an extra header of the ball in there. I think he'd make an excellent full-back. Don't play the Greek no matter what! Get Pachecho in the squad.

I've got to work a careers day tomorrow which would normally get my goat up something chronic with the Reds playing at lunch-time but I can't help but think i'm being spared.

Our backs are right up against it so i'm going for a 1-1 draw.

Hey Nanny,I thought you would of had enough, the last time you went to an away game.Surely in times gone by, any Liverpool team would be considered an easy win against this kind of opposition....

Certainly in my time!
