This sums me up n all saint

I was shocked when I first saw the team, I was so depressed looking at a teamsheet that was so bad, so defensive I hadn't seen anything so poor since the Souness time

That $hit team almost ground out a good 3 points at the Brittania,,

I seen an increase in effort by the team, in the absence of gerrard and torres, almost like when a team goes down to  10 men.

...

was Degen limping  when he came off ?
If he was'nt then i'd rather have him in the box defending againt the stoke long ball, rather than 'mini maxi'.

was this a enforced substitution or tactical?

'That $hit team almost ground out a good 3 points at the Brittania'!!!

You may have agoodmentality to accept mediocrity but I don't :D

Fauxy wrote:I agree that stoke dont deserve to be in the pl... they are just a team that relies on corners and throw ins to get their points. And they just try and muscle the ball away in every challenge. Really boring style of play they have. The only player on their team that deserves a mention is Tuncay because he actually has quality.

Yet we have only beat them once in 4 games.  Not good enough.

Time to walk rafa. Sounds like the doubts are there. Why prolong the inevitable?

People need to get off this sack thing; we are not going to get a new manager when u have a top manager like Benitez and u do not have the money to fully support him...

Bringing in a new manager means we must have a capital outlay of 50-70mp, to both pay off Rafa and invest in new players. That is not a realistic expectation...

It'll happen alright.  Benitez will go.  the pay-off won't be as big as a lot of people are reporting, that's all.  And investment in the club will happen by the summer, just probably at a lesser valuation.  Even these dippy owners know that they can't keep a manager who has lost the team and whose best efforts to get out of the mess we're in are failing spectacularly.  The medium to long term potential for disaster is far greater.  One forgettable season is still just one season.  we can come back from it.  I have no doubt.  But you let a rot to set in over 2-3 seasons and you really are in a whole heap of trouble.  That will happen with a manager who has lost the team.  The tide has turned with football in this country and yes, a lot of it is to do with the scandalous amounts of money involved.  But it takes better skills than what we currently possess at boardroom and managerial level to deal with it.  Honestly, as a club having to cope with less than the mega-rich / better facilitated have, you could do worse than look at Villa as a good example of how to build a strong club / team in the current era.

Also, Rafa has had plenty of money to invest in players over five and a half seasons - a bigger net spend than Fergie - so that argument doesn't hold up.  True, we can't often go and splash out £20 - £30 million, but there's been investment alright.  Just too many duds.  Duds that have been stubbornly persevered with despite obvious failings.  Honestly, can anyone think of a more stubborn manager than Rafa?

None of this gives me pleasure.  None of it.  I'm not gung-ho for a manager at LFC to lose his job.  The whole thing is s**t.  But we'll come back stronger with change.

Back to the game, just thought I would give some marks for the players.

Reina - Commanding performance, could do nothing about goal - 8

The Greek - Did okay, good in the air and scored - 7
skyrtl - Not the same player as last year, looking dodgy - 5
Insua - Better going forward that defending - 6
Degen - Notr a midfielder, bit of a headless chicken but did get free kick for goal - 5
mash - Thought he did okay on his first game back, solid tackles - 6
lucas - Was one of our better players and should have had a penalty - 8
Aurellio - Did okay and great cross in finla minute - 7
Ngog - Terrible touch, terrible positioning and terrible game - 3
Kuyt - Should have scored - 5

I'm sure I've just seen us at 20-1 to get relegated

and in other news the Forest fans are chanting 'are you watching Liverpool', good times :(
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

:censored: this season.

It's been over for a long time. Lets just write it off, get our top players fit ( stop playing them for the remainder ofthe season ).

Finish mid table this season, change the manager in the summer, spend some money if we get new investment, try and hold on to our stars and really have a push next season.

don't think we had many other options

Which says it all really, just shows how far our squad has fallen

shows how many injuries we have
