Don't forget SG's comments after the Chavski game : "We're beginning to understand what the manager wants us to do..."
So how does beating the league leaders 2-0, and losing to Stoke compare ? Did Woy tell them to do something radically different for today's game ?

Clearly there are problems with the depth and quality of the squad, but I'm not sure that is our biggest problem right now...

right now all of them, most of them have more skill that most of our fisrt team and almost all of our 2nd team. the SH1T that has been taken to this club over the years is shocking, we forgot a long time ago how to grow real home grown players.

Yeah so :censored: they finished 2nd with a record points finish, so :censored: the were mixing it up in the latter stages of the CL every year. Stoke are better than that right?

Stop trying to make excuses Lakes, you were in that same bandwagon saying how we were just lacking a motivator and now he has been shown up to be a shower or rubbish you are looking for other excuses.

BAV you asked for Rafato be sacked aswell and dont forget that, Rafa did :censored: all at this club last year apart from :censored: the payers off. Rafa gone mate get over it, we are now talking about a club that can not put out a strong bench and a manager that seems to lack ideas on how to win games......have we moved on from last year?..no

me and you both said Roy would not be our pick as a manager but we would waite and see what happens, well its starting to be very cleartha he is finding this very hard, unless you would have MON take over the roll then i can see Roy being here untill the end of the season and thatr put fear into me, if he is given the money to spend on players god knows who he will bring in.....but hey they could not be much worse then many of  the last 76 players that come to he club

That's strange, it wasn't so long ago that you said we had a squad capable of finishing in the top 4 and even a title push. Now you are resigned to the fact that they are not good enough?

Do you think it's at all possible the manager is to blame?

Exactly. Last season the manager was sacked for not getting us into the top four because thats where this team was supposed to be at. So which is it now?

You know what Emerald, I hope all those snakes who wanted Rafa out are happy now. Nice one! They can all take the blame with Roy for this.

You know what I don't even hate Roy for it, I knew from the get go he wasn't good enough, he has never been good enough and he never will. This is embarrassing for the club and the players. Not to mention the fans.

He needs to resign asap.

I just can't see how they can defend him, Bav, then keep backtracking on the sh*t they were going on about last season about how we failed because of Rafa's bad managment. It wasn't the players. Sure the team had the likes of Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano et al. Yes, we lost Mascherano in the summer, but look who we (sorry, he) replaced him with and then lent out a quality midfielder in his place. Our first 11, as it stands, is more than capable of at least controlling a football match against the likes of Wigan and Stoke, but instead we look as if we're sh*tting bricks against Barcelona.

Lakes made a good point about Roy using the same formation and system as Rafa last year, only he used the word tactics instead. Yes, Roy has used the same formation, with largely the same players, but somehow we are playing drastically worse. We can't keep the ball. We can't attack. So what does that come down to? Instructions from the manager. The players must take some flak for the performances, but it's a massive symptom of the tactics this manager is employing.

And on top of that he doesn't even play to the strengths of the squad he has, instead he tries to make them play in a style that they are NOT suited to and despite all the bad results he still persists.

Yes we are using the same formation but we played decent possession football under Rafa. Ok the last season was a mess but it was a bad season. Trying to compare tactics from Rafa and Roy is like..... well forget an anaolgy. 1 is a "master of European football" and the other is average at best.

btw those words were from the King.

That's exactly the thing for me: we look lost. No fight and no clue. I wouldn't mind if we lost but showed a lot of promise; battering down the door, getting shots cleared off the line, hitting the woodwork etc etc. The best we muster is a Konchesky hit and hope blind square ball into the box, it gets cleared or bounces luckily for a shot that gets blocked or another harmless cross put in. There's no patient build up, no probing for more than 30 seconds outside the area for a chink in the defence. We're playing like an amatuer league side.

Roy just playing the wrong players in his beloved formation. Whether we will do better if we have his kind of player is open for discussion. But the fact that he keeps insisting on playing the wrong players in his formation is really troubling. I mean if we are leading the league by a fecking big margin, i don't think any of us would complain. At the moment, we are losing to the minions of the EPL would at least suggest he need to make changes. I think Roy is too obsess with his system thinking it is the best system there is but he forgot to realize he doesn't have his kind of players to do it. I think whether some would believe we have a sh.lt team or Roy just doesn't cut it, we just need to make the Manager Change. I'm sure NERV heard us and is proceeding quietly as we speak. NERV is looking to increase the value of the team. So, I'm sure they will do something very soon.

I know Rafa has gone mate, believe me I do. But im just making the point the clowns on here were so adamant we were headed down the wrong path with him, and yet can you really sit there and tell me we could have been this bad under him?

You can cling to whatever excuses you want mate.

in truth mate i think even if Rafa was still here we would still have the same points. i dont feel that the clubhas move on one bit.

what we should be talking about is how bad our players are playing and how the hell thy have forgot how to pass, i mean Torres misshit a pass tonight by a full 20 yards, SG missed a pass and cost us a 2nd goal, what the hell is going on.

a manager can :censored: up many things but making players forget how to pass a ball is not one of them.

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson: "It's a bad result every time you lose, and it's difficult to give an assessment straight after you've been beaten. When we went 1-0 down we were forced to take some risks and they almost got us back into the game so unfortunately not. Most of today we've defended long throws and long ball forward and balls pumped into your penalty area, so it's a very different game to that against Chelsea. It's a special game, this one. You have to defend stoutly and do more going forward than we did."

Yeah we need some new players. But even if we had better players this manager would probably find some way to make them play badly so if you don't mind id rather see the manager out first before we move onto signing new players.

Besides, we have that Comolli in now, im sure he will be bring in a few decent ones.
