Reina

Jonno/Kelly Carra  Agger   Enrique

               Lucas    Adam

Dirk              Hendo           Downing

                  Suarez

subs: Doni, Gerrard, Coates, Carroll, Bellamy, Jonno/Kelly, Maxi

If Kelly is definitely out then stick Flanno's name in instead

I'd go with that and see how it goes, the front 4 are very interchangable so their movement should be able to pull them about to create a bit of space hopefully, and with Carroll and Bellamy on the bench I'd be pretty happy for them to come on if it isn't working
All round the fields of Anfield Road
Where once we watched the King Kenny play (and could he play!)
Stevie Heighway on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
'Bout the glory, round the Fields of Anfield Road

Didn't we loan out Flanagan?

In recent times creativity has been a big problem for us and probably plays a large part in our failure to kill off games. Looking through the squad now we're alot more creative...but perhaps still not quite creative enough. I'd be tempted to unleash Bellamy on Stoke. He's gonna be chomping at the bit I think. Carroll too is surely a must for this one. I fear though that we might go for route one tactics once more. Still, that might work for this. Carroll in the box, launching balls for him to attack if Stoke decide to sit deep, a few kind knockdowns and we're in business. I always worry about the likes of Suarez in such physical games as this. Stoke are the kind who wont think twice about giving him a beating and we know Suarez can get a bit sulky. I'd really be tempted to go with Carroll/Bellamy.

That said...if we want to finish top 4 this year this is a must win game. Even with a few injuries there's no excuses now. We should have this wrapped up 2 or 3 nil at half time.

Wonder how Crouch will play against us??

Its crucial we keep the back tight, control the mid and create enough opportunities for Carroll and Suarez.

With this being a tricky away fixture we will need to solidify the mid!

I would play Lucas just behind Adam and Hendo..

Dowing and Suarez on the flanks with Carroll upfront. With that formation when were attacking or controlling the game Hendo could push forward which will increase our goal threat!

Probably one of the hardest games we'll have to play this year.. While I understand the theoretical logic behind starting our more physical players (Carroll and perhaps even Skrtel) against this lot, Im not sure it will be the best strategy. They will always be favourites when it comes to the physical side of things, and where we can really hurt them has to be the possession and technical side of things. Defensively, I'd understand the inclusion of our 'bigger guys' to challenge them aerially but going forward I dont really think its that great an idea playing to the opposition strengths. I'd keep Carroll on the bench for this one and try to maintain as much of a possession style as possible to give them as little of the ball as possible.

For me, this is one of those games that will determine how our season will go. Its a shame it comes after an international break and its also a shame that our momentum after a string of good results might be jeopardized because of the break.

With Kelly injured and Johnson uncertain for this one, I'd go for Skrtel at rightback ahead of Flanagan.

                                 Reina
Skrtel           Carragher          Agger          Enrique

                     Lucas             Adam

        Maxi                    Kuyt             Downing
                                Suarez

That said, I expect Kenny to start all of Flanagan, Henderson and Carroll ahead of Skrtel, Maxi and Kuyt for this one...

Prediction: 0-0

Hmm I have a feeling that Johnson will be fit for this one and we will play the 3 center back formation we used against them at home and Chelsea away

It might work
