These guys are obviously going to come here to defend like most do at anfield, Rafa now has a chance to make changes to his formation and tactics. I know that's to much for him to handle for the man who likes to play attacking midfielders in a holding role, but he has to do something to regain some pride in this club.

Go for a 4-3-3, live a little, play Nando upfront with Kuyt and Pacheco (I know he's not done anything to prove himself in the first team, but he has pace and creativity and would be great with Torres, then just let Kuyt poach like he does best. The it's time to copy the european champions and play Gerrard and Aquilani in a "Xavi and Iniesta" role in the middle, with Masch covering the back 4. Then we'd get our width from either Johnson and Aurelio/Insua going forward or Gerrard floating over like he did against Fiorentina and made some amazing balls into the box.

We don't win this after what the spuds did to Wigan, then I think we should all know what's coming.

3-0 to Wigan with 3 well taken goals whilst Liverpool run round the field with their heads up their @rses claiming they've lost their confidence despite being paid 100 thou a week and pr!cks on this forum continue to blame the manager.

I think we'll have to go for a wild win to fulfill the fans' apetite, 4-1 (Torres hat-trick and Benny) and to kick start things. With Aquaman starting of course.

Again this could be way off, but in his text he said dirk upfront with torres and lucas dropped.
No mention of why no Johnson though.

liverpool better win tomorrow, a draw isnt good enough, its wigan ffs.

IF we get beat i hope rafa resigns after the game, and given our current form i wouldnt even rule that out.

I hope your mate is right, I like the look of that side. Without Johnson we lack a bit of threat, so going 4-4-2 may help.

I have been frustrated that we haven't tried to change the formation before now, hopefully this will be the start of our fightback.

I can't really understand why Aquilani is not getting a start though, Its not as if the players have been playing out of their skins and are undroppable.

Same here mate, he must be hugely frustrated.
He was well off the pace though when he came on Sunday, hopefully he will get 30 minutes again and gradually get the match sharpness and fitness back.
What Rafa should have done weeks ago with him really.

Anyay 4-4-2 is definately worth trying given that we are really struggling with Rafa's preferred formation.
