I hope to see Zenden nowhere near the pitch.  Gerrard and Alonso in the middle of the park.  Mark Gonzalez and Pennant out wide.  Crouch and Bellamy or Kuyt and Bellamy as the front 2.

My starting 11:

                           Reina

Finnan           Hypia        Agger           Aurelio

Garcia          Gerrard      Alonso          Gonzalez

                  Bellamy        Fowler

Fowler and Bellamy will be chomping at the bit to play this game after being rested in midweek.  I would rather have pennant on the right but with these two up top he may be a little wasted and garcia is better at linking up with the strikers.
I hope he plays Gonzalez too but have a feeling Zenden my be involved somehwere.

Think it's vital we get fowlers fitness up as soon as possible as i think he could be really important for us this season.  He can work his socks off for 60/70 mins and then introduce kuyt for his home debut.

was lucky enough to get tickets on the lottery/ticket phone line, cant wait.

how anyone can justify dropping crouch is beyond me. he's our most in form player.

Purely on the basis that he ran his socks off for 90mins on his own on wedneday.

We have two great strikers that have had a weeks rest, surely we need to use them.  Also with the england games coming up, coruch will be involved in two games in a week, fowler will get complete rest.

Kuyt and Bellamy for me up front for me.

I think Rafa was resting craig verus Macabi in the week for Saturday. And expect a tough game from the hammers too, as per the FA cup final.

Kuyt should be pre season fit, and be good to see what he can offer for 70 mins or so, then bring on crouch.

Likely Starting Line up:

             Reina

Finnan   Hyypia   Agger    Aurelio

Gerrard   Alonso   Zenden   Gonzalez

             Kuyt      Bellamy

Subs:  Crouch, Fowler, Pennant, Dudek, Palletta.

My predication? ............The hammers will get Hammered!

3-0

Yeah and what? This whole ''early kick off '' = poor results is a myth, I've looked at our record from last season when we played at early kick off and it wasn't poor by any means.

These injuries mean less tinkering with the squad.

:D Calm down Anne Bancroft, im just sayin the players where knackerd when they got back from Russia in the early hours of wednesday morning, slept in Melwood, went home, and will report for training in the morning.
Atleast with a 3 o'clock kick off they could have had a sleep in.
Know wara mean Lar  :D

Since when was Kiev in Russia, lar?  :D

They're professional footballers, they need to deal with it. For the amount of money they get weekly they should wake up every morning reciting every song sunged by the Kop faithful.

the way west ham play means that it will be an open game which i think will suit us, especially with the added pace we now have in the side. play pennant and gonzalez with alonso and gerrard central and we should win the game.

we'd better win anyway. it's my birthday tomorrow and i don't want my day spoilt.  :D
