Chelsea, it seemd according to the BBC sports website, were having a Drogba-Schevchenko who-scores-first contest against Boro.
It's always a team game and with more of a contest to come in midfield when Ballack and lampard resume their partnership, this should be a season of more intense rivalry in the "all-star" Chelsea team, with Mourinho now forced to play without his trusted rigid and pragmatic style of a lone powerful striker who batters the opposition and 2 fast wingers and Lampard who pick up the pieces and assault the goal.
Now, Schevchenko must play, as does Ballack and also Lampard with the holding midfielder having to do more work than merely sitting back. Chelsea should be more open to being attacked at the back and more vulnereble to concede.
As for us, I just hope we shurg off this rustiness look and get far more ruthless up front. I'm more concerned at Carra's abscence than Sissoko, as we should have Alonso-Gerrard axis back in the centre. I dread that Zenden will be used more in the centre now with htis injury problems.
