REDS: CROUCH'S DOUBLE IS OFFICIAL

Liverpool FC have confirmed official club records will show a Peter Crouch double strike against Wigan Athletic at Anfield.
Chief Executive Rick Parry said: "It's ridiculous that people are suggesting Peter's opener this afternoon was an own goal. Just because the goalkeeper touches a goalbound effort before it enters the net does not mean that it should be registered as an own goal.

"Our official records will record that Peter scored twice against Wigan Athletic. There is absolutely no reason for any panel to consider whether the goal should be credited to him."

alrite! nice to see crouch finally score, he really deserves it.

i hope he starts scoring

well looks like we'll be in the top 3 before heading off to the World Club Championships!

Says the man who started a topic today on what Liverpool  team should play against Barca in the Champions League final in May

changing the subject, i've just seen the match on Sky +...did anyone notice the Wigan fans standing up to cheer just before Crouch scored?  They obviously thought the ball was going over....it's a classic reaction to see them taking the pi$$...then realising the ball was in the net and see them head in hands

Just got back from the game (via a couple of hours in the pub :D ) - chuffed to bits for Crouch, he played his socks off and even without the goals he'd have been my MOTM, feckin brilliant  :buttrock

dunno what all the fuss was about with Kewell though, he looked no better than usual ???

Gerrard & Alonso were excellent as was Finnan, Reina also had a pretty faultless game. I only get to Anfield maybe 4 or 5 times a season so today was the most convincing performance I've seen in the flesh for YEARS

GET IN!!!!! :buttrock
