I have been saying for bloody ages that the reserves should be given some more chances, now it looks like Rafa will have too.

Spearing was ahead of Plessis in the CL squad because SPearing is a qualifies as a Liverpool trained player.  But it is also true that Plessis has been playing below the standard he was playing at last season.  Hard to tell the reason, could be disapointment at lack of first team time?

The most talented CM in the reserves is Francisco Durán who was playing for Malaga's first team at age 16, but he has had a horrible injury record and I think he is out again at this moment.

Seems like Gerrard will be out for three weeks
