In theory, I would expect them to call for Lucas to stay in the side, he did put in a fine performance midweek did he not? Our trouble to break teams down in the prem at home would usually lead to a Macherano-less side, but Hull will likely have a go at it, and Mascherano accompanied by Alonso with Gerrard behind Keane seems likely to me. But can that team score? I think if we play one striker and that one striker isn't Torres, Babel might be able to offer more down the left than Riera (whose crosses normally don't find anyone even when we play with 2 strikers)

I'd play the below...

Arbeloa  Carragher  Agger  Insua (worth a try)

Kuyt  Gerrard  Marscherano  Riera

            Babel  Keane

I'd have Alonso on the bench ready to go and trade him for Masch, if all's going well and if Babel proves to be a damp squid up top, move in Kuyt and bring on Benny for RM. Dossena can be changed for Insua if that doesn't work out.

That would do me just fine mate. Unfortunately I don't think the manager will play Babel on the right. I reckon he has played two out and out wingers on less than 10 occasions since he's been at the club. I suspect Bennayoun will start this one with Babel reverting to his spot on the bench. Would like to see Insua given another opportunity to impress.

Your probably right Scott , but the attacking intent is there with that team , and i'm sure we'd create enough chances to score a couple atleast and win the game .

By the way scott , when your at the game mate , if anyone boo's next to you , feckin give them the back of your hand will yer lash. And tell them to sing instead . :;):

was gonna quote the exact same thing  :D

I was going to add that after watching the highlights, it might be a good idea resuming the reading of the magazines instead of posting the views here. Just a suggestion.

Excuse my apparent ignorance but I thought that Kuyt was injuryed, I hadv't heard anything about him being fit or have I missed it. Would like to see bable downt he right again and kuyt and keane up top, asuming kuyt is fit. If not play bable up there. We have to go 442 IMO.
Im not sure about starting lucas either, played well mid week yes and needs to be given a chance but as I feel we need to play 442 then there is no place for him in the team even if gerrard plays on the right.

3 - 1 and I would like a couple from keane and reiera to get another to hoepfully give him the taste and confidence to score more regular.

This games sounds like the sort of game that could be on shitanta... am I correct?
