Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Great asset for us, will be interesting to see where Roy plays him, to be honest he seems more suited to the slower pace of international football especially when played on the right.

I would still rather we have a genuine old-fashioned winger but Kuyt's attitude is fab. He runs all day, never moans and is a true professional.

The season hasn't even started and already there is calls for Kuyts removal ...........  nothing like getting to grips with the crux of the problem eh ???
I guess its only a matter of time before the Lucas thread is revived and then we can all get back to normality ...
let me reaffirm our current situation mainly for the posters who have managed to spend the last year living  in a cave while Liverpool Football Club has been dragged into the dark ages " Liverpool Football Club needs to retain players that   want to be here " simple rule really but its one that's been a byword right through our history, and given our current predicament I would say loyalty was the one trait we should be applauding ......
Roy Hodgson said every player will be given the chance to impress ..... "so give Kuyt a chance" last season he was abysmal ,but so was the team as a whole ...the season before he was exceptional and the catalyst for many of our victories
I simply cant fathom why posters denigrate Kuyt but in the same breath are willing to promote Riera's inclusion and that of Ryan Babel two of the most lethargic footballers to ever wear the red of Liverpool ???

Babel, Reira, Kuyt and Lucas ALL need to go. We need creatvity and pace. The crux of the problem lies in the fact Rafa forced out Alonso and replaced him with Lucas.

Combine that with no wide men and hey presto! No goals.

The crux of the problem lies in the fact that we have little money or time to replace them.

No one has ever said he is the best most skilful winger in the land but I tell you what - he is ine the most productive ones around and his value to his team - club and country is recognised by many people in the game - shame some of his own fans don't recognise it .

If he goes some will then see what we miss without him

so there is no way we can replace Kuyt.

One of our major failings last season was lack of width and pace. We would try and play everything through the middle because, quite simply, we have no wingers.

We need someone with a creative spark and a spring in their step. In fantasy football land, i would sign Robben. But anyone with pace and a good left foot would suffice.

Sure kuyt can be replaced - shame we dont have the money to replace him with these fantasy flashy quick skillfull wingers.

Then again i would still take Kuyt over most of them .

We should offer Kuyt to Galatasaray as a swap deal for Arda Turan.

Might be more tempting for Rijkaard since they got the ol' dutch connection :;):

There was a bit more to it than that + I doubt we're in a position to replace all of the players you've mentioned. Hodgson will have to find a way to do more with less, it's as simple as that.

we could already have a replacement for Babel in Jovanovic. Lets face it, he can't be any worse!

True, but if we don't sell Kuyt now we will get nothing to replace him with!

10 million now is better than nothing in 2 years.

And we wouldn't get the full ten million to spend and even if we did we couldn't get someone to replace him for that amount of money and get the same return and end product - people like Milner are going for 30 million , villa would prob ask for near 20 million for young .
