DANIEL AGGER - Official Thread

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Waldo wrote:Has the potential to be a class act for LFC but I fear for him with his injury record. I read that Rafa is interested in taking him to Italy and I think Agger may be tempted - fresh start, slower pace of game, less contact - maybe he will actually get fit.

Even if injured he could fetch a few quid in the January window and that might tempt Hodgson/Commolli to cash in and bring in a replacement - like Gary Cahill or Ryan Shawcross (i.e. young homegrown talent).

I hope Agger stays but I have a feeling he will move on for the reasons stated above :(

Also...

We have a replacement 'Danny' to come in anyway. Danny Wilson is going to be a class act and I don't think it will be long until we see him again in an LFC shirt (Europa league perhaps). He has huge potential and is expected to get a call up to the full Scotland squad for next week's international.

I watched him in a recent Scotland U21 game and the guy is class.

Has many similar traits to his name sake Agger  :buttrock

i like Danny Agger, but he's no use to us injured all the time. If a big bid came in, i'd be tempted to sell. Shame, because he's a good player when fit, but i don't think his body is up to it.

good player when he is fit, overrated by our fans though, I don't think he is top class to be honest.

Heard somewhere that he'll probably be out for about eight weeks: Five weeks of complete rest and three weeks of rehabilitation. Don't know how true this is though, but I think it was his agent saying so.

pains me to say it, but i think we should sell if a 10+ million offer comes in.

at least he'll get us playing the ball out from the back. i'm utterly sick of our defenders hoofing the ball aimlessly long all the time.

I really like Agger he has tons of quality and potential but at this stage after so many injuries it is time to move on and sell. I must say that poses a bigger question on us insisting of bringing injured players to our team ,be it Aureillio or Aqua and Even Cole..We are placing to much on players with repeating injuries. Gotta question the managers judgment here.

I think he was at one point a potentially top quality CB, but injuries have severely impacted him and I don't think he has the potential to get that much better than he already is.  That said I'd still have him ahead of Carra every week, too bad he's never fit though. :(

Absolutely great to see him back. The difference both he and aurelio make to our side is remarkable because they're both good footballers who are willing to bring the ball out and play through midfield instead of hoofing it long all the time.

The question is whether either of them willactually retain their places for Blackburn. I won't hold my breath. It just goes to show though that any thought of letting Agger go is pure madness. He's the best footballing centre half in the league for me when fit.
