He is one of our best players and I'd even vote for him to become the next Liverpool captain. If BR is thinking about selling agger to buy other players, he should think again. If he needs to sell, sell Adam, spearing  and Carroll in that order

I don't think its about footy, its politics per my above post.

if the owners decide that they want to accept an offer for agger then its the proof that they really don't know what they are doing. a defender that rodgers has said in public that he doesn't want to leave, who's style is absolutely vital to the pressing 4-3-3 that rodgers wants to play, and who has recently declared his passion and loyalty to the club. the 20 million quid received would be far outweighed by the damage to the playing style the manager wants and the players' and fans' confidence in the club.

In todays paper there is a longer interview with Agger and i will try to translate it for you to the best of my abylities. But as said English is not my best so please bear with me.

heres is a link to the online version, maybee google translate can do a better job than me :)

http://ekstrabladet.dk/sport/fodbold/ud ... 807264.ece

Agger dont know if he is bought or sold.
The Danish internatinal looks like he is honest, when he i Odense with a smile states, he will have to wait and see what happens between Liverpool and Man City.

Interviewer : Have you been asked yourself ?
Agger : No, Not at all
Interviewer : Isnt that Strange ?
Agger : maybee, but it isnt up to me to say if its strange or not, its the way the club has decided to do it, and it dosnt really bother me.
Interviewer : But the club could make a deal, and then you could say, hey i still have 2 years left on my contract im not going ?
Agger :yes, thats correct
Interviewer : Do you feel powerless ?
Agger : No, its the other way around
Interviewer : you feel powerfull ?
Agger : No, but im fine with the situration im in, its up to the club. I cant do anything about it.
Interviewer : If you are gonna stay, shouldnt you get a raise ?
Agger : I havent heard anything, so i dont know if they want to run out the contract. We will have to wait and see.
Interviewer : What do YOU wanna do ?
Agger : I want to stay, but its not up to me, its up the the owners.
Interviewer : What does your YNWA tatoo meen to you ?
Agger :The same as all my other tatoos
Interviewer : When did you have it made ?
Agger : Some time ago
Interviewer : As a signal in this matter ?
Agger : No, not at all, its made as a gesture to the fans, club and city, and the meaning of You'll Never Walk Alone, As the words say no matter how bad things look you are never alone. Thats something I want to learn my kids too.
Interviewer : You have said before you never want to play for another club in England, have you changed your mind about that ?
Agger : No, not really, But sometimes you can get in a situration where it isnt your call anymore. I hope thats not the case this time, but its not up to me.
Interviewer : Loyalty Still meens alot to you ?
Agger : Ofcourse, i wouldnt be there if it didnt
Interviewer :Are you old fashioned ?
Agger : No, I dont think so. I just have my princibles and im gonna stick with those. That beeing said, sometimes things happend and then you will have to adjust, thats the way i feel at the moment.
Interviewer : So if you are sold to City you can see yourself play for them ?
Agger : It would be against my will, but on the otherhand you dont wanna bee where you are not wanted.
Interviewer : Wouldnt it be nice to know, what it is the club wants ?
Agger : I know this period comes evry year. Im gonna take the whole thing with a f*cking smile ( smileing )
Interviewer : Honestly, cant you tell me when exactly you got the tatoo ?
Agger : About 2 weeks ago, but its been on my mind for a long time
Interviewer : As a gesture to the fans ?
Agger : yes, they have done a lot for me. And they where amazing the other day. I never seen anything like it.
Interviewer : You where touched ?
Agger : yes. I would never have dreamt of that. The hairs on my neck where standing. It was an amazing feeling.
Its also shows im respected in the club and that meens alot to me this is defently a club and a city I respect very much.

I hope i havent misspelled to many words so you get the general idea.

Sincerlly

Many thanks.

I am sure Dan is being truthful, but I can't see the club acting this poorly towards a loyal player either. Methinks the media have whipped this up into a storm.

It seems like a storm in a tea cup to me, he wants to remain here, so let that be that and get the new season underway.

Agger wants to stay and Brendan said he wants him to stay.

So if he does go then I can only assume that Rodgers isn't in full control of transfers.

This makes me confused. Agger leaving would be dumb. What doesn't Rogers like about him (he isn't playing him and presuming Rogers is in control of transfers)? If Rogers isn't in charge of transfers, then why is he not seeing the pitch even? If he is not on the pitch Saturday and not on the bench, something is up and it ain't a good thing. Wouldn't hit panic button on new owners just yet though.

So im guesing that would be the owners of the club.

The article futhermore quote Agger for saying he hasnt been ask his opinion in this matter from the management, which seems ( im reading a bit between the lines here ) to surprise Agger a bit.
Agger ends this part of the interview by saying : Thats the way the club has decided to do it.

Agger ends the interview by saying it a bit more diplomatic :

I would rather stay and i couldnt imagine Playing for another club, but you never know, if the club finds selling me is the better chooice.

thanks mate.

is your bleedin' alias Danish for something, yfxbjhddthbfdxeenjisase ?

On a side note.

Agger has been promoted to Captain on the Danish national team today by Coach Morten Olsen.

Agger Is very proud and says : Its very few people who gets to play for the Danish National team and even fewer gets to be the Captain. This is very big for me.

funny enough martin skrtel was made captain of the slovak national team on the same day, and in another coincidence denmark are playing slovakia tonight so as national team captains the two team mates will share a handshake at the halfway line before the game starts.

Apparently Martin Skrtel is close to agreeing a new deal which is just the tonic we need, I don't think we can afford to lose either Agger and Skrtel, so it's important that we keep them here and what you have posted has made my day, it's great to see Liverpool players doing well on the International scene. Long may it continue...

He looks like an exceptional young talent and if he can tap in to his massive potential will become a great player for any club. I cannot see us signing him as I think Barcelona will know that they've got an exciting young prospect and will be reluctant to sell, but they have sold Dos Santos and Bojan in recent years and these players were believed to be replacements for the Barcelona old-guard, but that never materialised, so who knows?

We are also linked with a loan move for Sahin from Real Madrid, so two really exciting young talents could be here for next season. Not too happy that we've had to resort to dipping into the loan market, but if it improves us and gets us back into top four contention than more the merrier in my book.
