New Manager - Who would you have? (merged thread)

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

08/09 was a good season overall. We played our best stuff toward the end, obviously, but that isn't to say we were generally poor otherwise. We battered Everton, outfoxed Chelsea and Real Madrid, thrashed Newcastle, came from behind to deservedly beat the Manc's and mounted several excellent comebacks all before March.

Oh dear....
:(

Something wrong ?

The pattern is quite simple to follow - the further we went in the CL the worse our league results got until last season when we started to challenge on both fronts.

have you caught on yet, that your the only one with your opinion?? :nod  your getting it from all sides!!! lol

Dont you have some homework to finish .

Neither can you be unlucky for the whole season ..... doesn't stop that excuse being trotted out week in week out.

This season? We haven't been unlucky, we have been :censored: poor and the players have themselves to blame, manager too. There is no denying that but before we can look at a new manager we need to look at the clubs future as that will determine what kind of manager we go for next, if we do that is.

Quite agree. If we dont have a transfer kitty nor money to build a stadium then you have to assume the club´s business plan is completely focused on debt repayment (interest and loan capital) with anything else being window dressing.

Why should we spend more money on players?
Our team is not old (except for Carra)
They are all internationals
We have young promising players with potential in reserve
Stick with what weve got and get it right

well Benny clearly has faith in Rafa, which is fair enough.

He's in a minority though, because i think the majority feel Rafa's time is up.

Torres and Mascherano have both said we need to bring in better quality players. Does that not tell you anything?

Yes
It tells me Mascherano should stop giving stupid penalties and free kicks away and Torres should stop moaning at referees and put the ball in the back of the net more
In other words get on with your job and stop bleating about other players

Liverpool fans have rarely been out spoken about managers at Anfield and i don't expect to hear any "RAFA OUT" chants starting now.

That will be from those who support our manager no matter what
Those that support him because of Istanbul
And those who are not very knowledgeable about football
