Fair enough, I will accept that Keane was the wrong striker, but don't you think it would have been a good idea to bring in a replacement if we were going to sell him?
Don't you think it may have been better to make an earlier decision to sell him than one hour before the window closed. Or do you think it was that vital 8 minutes he played in his final match for us that finally clinched he wasn't going to make it ?

oh i agree that a replacement should of been brought in and most people do and it looks like rafa did try and replace keane with this brazillian kerrison guy - but talking about baros and cisse and bellamy being better than kuyt ? Baors ? surely everyone remembers how poor he really was and bellamy couldnt score for toffee for us and was outscored by kuyt in the one season they were together and cisse was all pace no brain . and these guys left years ago so why go back over them once again .
and as for the lateness of the deal i can only think that he was going to stay until spurs came in for a bid that liverpool knew they wouldnt get in the summer .
GYBS wrote:well keane has already tried and it didnt work out - bellamy and baros didnt score enough goals for us as a striker . Cisse was never good enough for us adue to the fact he was all pace and no brain and proved that . Crouch is the oly one people would want back but he himself made the mvoes to leave and we replaced him with keane who in turn didnt work out . So you can say they are all this that and the other but they have all had opportunities here at liverpool and didnt take them bar crouch . Now i think most people woudl rather look to the future and who we may get in instead of being spurs and looking back at players we have sold on .

Supposedly Keane's agent was negotiating on behalf of Liverpool and Keane with Spurs in November. When was it Lawrenson made his "mistake" about Keane leaving ?
I am pretty sure that the decision to sell Keane was taken a while ago mate. Maybe the negotiations went on a lot longer than expected, but the decision to sell him was made a while ago imo.
