Baros left as he said he did not want to play for us and the CL final in Istanbul was his last game. Cisse never gelled with the team and had two horrific leg breaks plus was never a team player. Bellamy hit Risse with a golf club   and with all his moaning to the ref did us no favours and Crouch we should have kept but he wanted to leave. Kuyt brings more to the team than these mentioned strikers (I did like Crouch though).

Management just sat throughout the whole month tryin to offload keane.. FFS atleast consider a striker on loan or something..

I think someone posted earlier mate that rafa was trying to get a guy from brazil but there was a problem with him being owned by the club and by a media company so was hard to get everything done by the required time limit . seems the guy is a hot striker in brazil - think it was omsehint like 50 goals in 60 dd games and was the next big thing to come out of brazil . hopefully the deal will still be around in the summer - the price was around 10 mil or something - think heis name was Kerrison .

Totally agree with that. We needed a striker EVEN WITH KEANE. For us to start with David N'gog as our lone striker in a vital match like we did against Pompey though is frightening. 2/3 of the way through a five year plan, and that's where we're at. No injuries either (bit of "tiredness" only). How many other Premiership teams would David N'Gog get a start for as a lone striker in a must win match?

yeah would happily have crouch back at the club and think even rafa would tbh - he didnt want him to go in the first place but the lad wanted regular footy . shame really .

Even though we would want more from kuyt atleast he has stuck with us and doesnt moan about playing out of position..
There are many striker of decent talent that i feel are better than kuyt but at this moment in time considering our lack of depth upfront im glad we have him!

Add Pongolle and Luis garcia to your list Mick.

I hope in the summer we bring in atleast two attacking players or a play maker someone with a bit of trickery with that spark that makes you excited.
We only have Gerrard & Torres that have you on the edge of your seat. or who can change a game its not enough.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

completely baffles me mick honestly.. I hope though ngog on his own upfront is not repeated..
The only plus for our striking credentials under rafa has been torres.. The others have been errors that didnt work on a long term basis..

Feck me Lynds how could I forget about little Luis? Fecking loved him as a player. Pongolle was twice the player N'Gog is as well before he left, and is probably four times the player now by all accounts.

I should say that I don't hate N'Gog by any means, but he is some distance short of being good enough to lead the line for a top of the table Premiership team on his own. As striker number 4 of 4, possibly at a stretch, but nowhere near good enough for what we're asking him to do at the moment.

Rafa has just tried to bring him back and to get Quaresma but his agent wanted to much money.

That's the next big thing to come out of Brazil after Lucas right? I can't wait.
