Is there any hope for him? I think it's debateable. I suppose since his situation is looking absolutely desperate, we could possibly try playing him in the position he played in when we bought him, and the one which I imagine we bought him for. I know it's a bit out there, but we could try him as a centre forward at some point. You never know, it might just work.
That said, it probably won't and if it was me I'd listen to offers. Then after a couple of seconds consideration I'd accept one of them and sell him on.

Well it is if you're in the Olympic sprint final, but in a game of football it is but one of many important facets. You could by the same token say "hard work is the key" and then you arrive at Kuyt, or "experience is the key" and then you arrive at Hyppia.
Ideally, you want some pace to play wide midfield (it is an important asset) but you also need a lot of workrate, a bit of game sense etc etc. Babel has pace to burn I agree, and I do think that there is a footballer in him trying to get out. Unfortunately, I don't think the footballer in him is actually busting a gut to make an appearance, more like giving it a minute or two of sustained effort and then thinking, "ah feck it I'll try again next time".
