Dirk kuyt - Peace everyone

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Jimmy the Weasel » Thu Sep 25, 2008 4:13 pm

Ok, question then, seeing as we're moving in that general direction and comparing out own (arguably?) 'squad' players with other big teams'.

Can you afford to have players who are, at best "decent"  starting regularly and operating in the attacking 3rd of the pitch?

I think most teams have players who are average, squad players, you know the sort, but the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea maybe have them in the "non-cutting edge" positions (e.g. Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Fletcher - Mancs or Ivanovic, Ferriera, Belletti - Chelsea).

Goals win games at the end of the day, and both Chelsea and Man Utd have quality in their attack.

Decent prem player perhaps, made for Bolton or Wigan I'd say. Do you think Arsenal, Chavs or Mancs would touch him?

Would you take every single player chelsea arsenal or man utd have ? Dont care if those teams dont want him .

In a flash. It'd be the biggest and best squad in the world!!

be so pronounced if he played as a striker.

If anyone should be getting stick, it should be Rafa for playing him out wide in a 4-4-2.

But his shooting is generally appaling. Kuyt would end up being criticised even more if he was played only as a striker. At least he has the "work rate" thingy to fall back on in his current position.

You asked a simple question and I answered it. It really helps if you say/ask what you mean.

If English is not your first language I apologise

You dodged the question and asked me another one. I answered yes

You've asked the same question again, and guess what? My answer is still yes

Ah, you've edited it now. You'll have to be more specific I think. Would be nice if you answered my original question too

Why don't each group set up a thread on Saturdays game?

"What Kuyt does well in the Everton game"

"What Kuyt does bad in the Everton game"

Only observations on Kuyt's play should be entered. Both sides can read each others entries after.

Personally, I find myself in the middle on Dirk Kuyt, but I certainly wouldn't shed any tears if he was gone in the morning. I think the sniping Kuyt gets can be a little un-necessary at times, but likewise the unquestioning support from other quarters is just plain silly.

Of course, I'm being a little facetious :p  , but it might be an interesting experiment.....at least for a single game.
