I agree he has created, but it's not enough, nowhere near enough. Look at the sides who've won the league recently, they don't carry passengers like Kuyt in attacking positions.

but he has created more than any other wide player of midfielder in the squad bar gerrard plus more than all the other strikers ? pennant played a season and a half at wide right and got not even half of the amount of assists kuyt got last year ?

Credit where it's due. But you're overstating his importance and contribution to the team, almost making out as if Dirk the football messiah dragged Liverpool through the qualifiers into the group stages of the Champions League.

I'll give you the next meaningless post I often hear about Dirk - He scored as many goals as Berbatov in his first season

Makes you wonder if we'd have been in extra time at all if we'd had a proper wide right player on from the start....

Another WUM. keep firing insults around like your doing and you'll be looking some other msg board to cry on. Again you points on Kuyt are nothing but bull5hit

so anyone who feels kuyt isnt good enough is a WUM? and his points are bullsh!t? and who are you to tell him if he's gonna have to find another message board to cry on when idiots like you are the ones giving such moronic replies thus causing people to respond aggresively? credit to Jimmy for not using vulgarities or making snide remarks at people's credibility as a fan.

Is it over stating the importance of those contributions ? that goal earnt us a lot of money , just like ones last year did as well . he did what no one else could do including 30 mill odd pound worth of strikers - he got on the end of a cross and scored .

yeah he did get as many goals as berbatov did in first season .

Can anyone explain the relevance of that Berbatov statistic for me? I'm puzzled by it...

so now because kuyt started was the reason we got to extra time ? remind me again how many goals or right winger has scored in total ? is it two from pennant ? come on mate now your being silly .

In one breath you're telling me my points are bull, and in the next you're trying to tell me he goes past players all the time!! It's laughable, it really is, you chirp on about having a shred of credibility when in actual fact you clearly don't spend much time watching our team play at all if you're seriously claiming that Kuyt beats his man and goes past him at all!!

He has no pace - my expression "running in treacle" was merely an expression of that, I'll be much clearer next time for the primary school set reading this.

It is a shame he has no pace mind you, as it'd help him get after his first touch if he did.

If a player isn't fit to play physically, he doesn't play. If he's not fit to play mentally, it should be no different, so whilst I sympathise with the loss of his father, Rafa should not pick him if it's affecting his ability to play the game, end of story - so that doesn't wash with me I'm afraid.

As for your pathetic threats, I've already seen much worse on here than anything I've posted so far. If you don't like it, I suggest taking issue with the more serious offenders, rather than your own brand of sad, vigilante internet warrior reaction.

Just so you know, ive watched EVERY LFC match with the exception of Carling Cup Games for the best part of 3 years now. iF im not over in the city I watch it on the foreign satellite feed in a local bar. EVERY MATCH. You are a self opinionated 5hitstirrer who has continually ignored all the facts that are there regarding his benefits and contributions, not to mention the opinions of his fellow players, coaching staff, football experts and other fans, instead regurgating your biased, untrue views then resorting to petty insults to put yourself over. IfiI wanted a flame war i would make you look like a fool, as previos posters have found out, but your not worth the effort, and its not worth getting a card or a ban for doing something as crazy as defending a player from the club I love

Thats It. Im finished on this subject. Everyones entitled to an opinion. however, TBPH if its derogatory about Liverpool FC, its staff, players or supporters  who tbph are sick to death of this same old cr@p I suggest you that from now on you keep it to yourself.

Because Berbatov brought a whole lot more to his side than Kuyt did.  Berbatov can actually kill a ball with 1 touch for starters.  After Kuyts 1st season I knew he wasnt good enough yet many said "12 goals in 1st season is good and next season he will come on".  2nd season arrived and Kuyt was even worse.

The same goals as Berbatov argument is like saying Henry scored less goals than Pongelle (Would love Pongelle at LFC instead of Kuyt. His banging them in for Athletico and will be one of those gems we let get away) did last season so Henry cant be much better.

I don't buy into assist stats much really. eg Masher won the ball and created an opportunity, yet Dirk gets the assist after rolling a 10 yard square pass that anyone could have made. I'd go as far as to say Masher created that.

Again, I think you're overstating his importance and contribution

Wasn't that 2 years ago though? I don't get the relevance now, today.

Are you suggesting that if Kuyt moved clubs now, he'd command a £30m fee because he's the same calibre of player?

I don't get why the comparison matters!

Pennant had 8 assist in 18 apperance last year, 11 in 32 for Kuyt 1 in 19 for Xabi.  Kuyt isn't a big offensive force not sure if that is what you're trying to say he is or not but yeah.  This thread has gone out of control anyway this is ridiculous everyone needs to calm down and just leave this thread alone for a bit.  Might even need to be locked it's no longer a discussion anymore in here.   :no

Edit:  Point I was makin is assist aren't a big deal although they're a nice number.  Kuyt just isn't suited for right wing that's all he's a forward and he isn't better than our current two so he shouldn't start, my opinion on the matter.  As for people that hate Kuyt, just get over it he isn't moving out of right wing anytime soon. :P

And that my friend is perfect example of people refusing to give kuyt credit for making a goal . masher did a tackle and kept the ball alive - yep he did great , kuyt lacthed onto it and picked out a team mates run perfectly for him to score.
